Excellent delivery of the voiceover by Dennis Patrick.

Alexander is a sullen little barbarian.  Probably the reason his bangs are too long is that he said in his usual less than gracious fashion that he didn't want them cut.  He did say "Thank you" today at one point - to Carolyn, I believe - so he's not completely ignorant of how to behave politely, but he chooses not to.  His voice sounds as though he's shouting all the time.  It's very grating.

We didn't get to eavesdrop on Carolyn's visit to Grant Douglas today, so we don't know whether he was conscious.  If he was, he didn't make much of an impression on her, because after the visit she agreed to go away with her father, abandoning any assistance she might lend to the patent's recovery.

I thought Jonathan Frid looked very handsome today, in the drawing room as he talked to Liz.  I didn't have such thoughts either of the times that we saw him in the antique shop.

Megan to Barnabas:  "When [my sister] called, I told her I'd become terribly attached to the baby, but she made me give him back anyway."
She said this with a straight face!!

Carolyn to Alexander:  "You and I will be seeing quite a lot of each other."
Just an hour later, Carolyn is packed and ready to leave town with her father.  Way to get a little boy's hopes up!

Alex to Megan:  "I'll work on my drarings."
 [snow_rolleyes]

The writing in this single ep seems to simultaneously rip off The Dunwich Horor (its strange Wilbur Whateley develops at an accelerated rate) AND the 50s alien invasion movies.  As Paul spoke to Liz of evil conspirators capable of mind control while unaware that she was a part of it, it felt very reminiscent of a few classics (Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Invaders From Mars, It Came From Outer Space, I Married a Monster from Outer Space) in which main characters are unaware that their parents, their husband, their girlfriend, or their neighbors are no longer who they thought they were.  Brrr.

LOLs Midnite!   (first two paragraphs)

Does Megan have to wear the pendant?   Do the Leviathans suffer somehow if she doesn't?   I mean, they don't go in for mere decoration, do they?
Hey Carolyn, you're going to be marrying that kid in a few months!!
Hitler was interested in drawing too....

January 15, 1970 eh....

"Everything's going splendidly!!"  Frid has fun here as do we.

In the ECS/Paul closing scene, did they just slap us in the face with half a dozen red herrings at the same time?

Oh yay!  MY favorite version of The Leviathan child :EYEROLL: I find it a bit creepy that Alex likes Carolyn especially they
get married
in a few months!  In a way it seems a bit racy/pushing the envelope for this time period in daytime television!  So weird!

As Magnus said Barnabas is creepytime greeting Paul with "everything is going splendidly!"

So is the Aztec head supposed to be intimidating because it isn't doing anything to me!  I love the outfit that JB has on and the matching brooch!  Joan B can surly play ruthless EVIL TO THE CORE!!!

Too bad Paul has decided to abandon his plan to leave town with Carolyn. But I suppose he had no way of knowing that Elizabeth was now, as Robin had put it, "one of them." I can't believe though, that another Leviathan follower wouldn't have tracked them down eventually. These people seem to be able to do anything.

I find Alex creepy as well. But it was almost cute when he put on the mask. It almost made him seem like a 'normal' kid.
He sure didn't mind creeping out Paul though.

Did it really only take a dream to make Elizabeth a Leviathan? Or did Barnabas do something else to win her over to the cause? I can't really tell.

With David, apparently all it took was one look inside the Book.  I've been assuming that for Elizabeth there was another step besides the dream - i.e. that
like Amy, she looked inside the Box
but on second thought, I see no reason to expect Dark Shadows to be consistent.

Okay, so I guess we never saw.  I thought I must have missed Liz's actual moment of transformation, which bothered me.   I remember the dream of course, but I thought that was a sort of foreshadowing.   Apparently it was the transformation itself, though how inappropriate laughing constitutes conversion, I'm not sure...
