Julia's notebook and Lang's journals were discussed today. What were the other books, journals, notebooks, etc. of importance concerning a storyline on DS?
-
There was Dr. Hoffman's journal on Barnabas right before 1795. First Woodard got it, then Julia got it. And then Barnabas was 'dying' to get it--cept of course he wasn't the one who he planned to do the dying. ;)

:) The Collins Family History book. So many references to the history of the Collins in the 1795 storyline, as well as, in other storylines. Nothing like knowing all about your ancestors or was that incestors? ;D
-
Adam certainly thought the book of love poems, and Freud's book were important.
-
The books Ben finds and gives to Desmond in 1840.....about the Bedford Atrocities.
Angelique's address/appointment book that Cyrus wants to look at in 1970 PT.
William Loomis' book in 1970 PT (don't want to say too much).
The poetry book someone left for Kitty Hampshire (again don't want to say too much).
Bruno's sheet music in 1970 PT/Joanna's sheet music in 1840 if those could be called books/booklets.
The Egyptian Book of the Dead in 1897.
The book on I-Ching in 1968/1969 storyline.
The Leviathan book.
That's all I can think of now. :-)

Ben Stokes' journal was important to Prof Stokes and to a few folks in 1897.
and **spoilers**
1840 Quentin's journal was used against him in his witchcraft trial.
Daphne wrote her of her plans to kill Quentin in her journal.
Evan Hanley laced the pages of the book of Latin Tim Shaw was supposed to translate with the mind control potion or whatever it was.
-
In 1970PT there was Cyrus Longworth's journal. :o

In 1897 Laura & Dirk dig up Ben Stokes' grave to try to retrieve Ben's diary because it told of what Barnabas' secret was and how he could be destroyed.

And who could forget Flora Collins' "novels"?
MrsJ.

I remember Barnabas giving Vicky some kind of history novel to read while she was engaged to Burke. (I don't remember the name of the book) I know Burke wasn't too thrilled with it though. [angryf]
And who can forget Julia's famous "forgotten book" on the Collins' family history? I wonder what ever happened with that one? [hdscrt]

PT Angelique planted a book about witchcraft in Maggie's room to make Quentin suspicious of his wife.

Whoa - it's amazing what you all remember.
Ooo....I thought of a couple. (I don't believe it)
In 1970 Parallel Time, Quentin enters the drawing room and gets annoyed when he sees that Maggie is reading some books on witchcraft.
And... I guess this qualifies as a spoiler -

In 1840, instead of the "head" Desmond had intended to give Quentin as a gift - (ROFL - what a pal), he gives him rare books on the occult. Quentin is quite pleased and sits down immediately to start looking at them.
I love that little scene. ;)

Some SPOILERS ahead...
There was a book about Judah Zachary in 1840, Will Loomis' novels in 1970PT ("Gold Hearted Lover", etc.), the bound newspaper volumes of the Collinsport Courier that Vicki & Joe read thru during the 1967 Laura storyline, the family bible Liz wrote her "death" date in '67 as she contemplated jumping off Widows' Hill, Cyrus Longworth's diary in 1970PT which incorrectly named Quentin as Angelique's killer, Eric Lang's notebooks, and that drug-laced book that Tim Shaw read in 1897 which led to MURDER!!!

What a serendipitously timed post!!!!
Hubby and I have spent much of this weekend counting, sorting, re-arranging and "weeding" all the books in the study.
But if Journals and books on Witchcraft and the Occult are enough to make a husband suspicious, mine should have contacted the authorities YEARS ago!!!...[lghy]
I've never seen any of the series from just about this point on....your list of "interesting" books makes me look forward to it even more!!
......William Loomis, Author....???!!!!

I thought of something else.
Only problem, I can't remember exactly what they're looking for.

When Barnabas and Julia return from 1995, I remember several scenes where they're looking through family history books for information. I think they're trying to find clues concerning the destruction of Collinwood.
Then Julia is also reading about 1840 Quentin's theory on time travel -- his building of the staircase through time. Hmm...yes - I think they're trying to find out info about Gerard.
Jeez - I get so confused. ?!?
