Hey, I know you all know by now about Dan Curtis looking into a new DS movie, (Yay if they do it right!) but I wanted to throw out an interview I found with the very handsome Mr. Depp from 1999, when Sleepy Hollow first came out. In it he mentions his undying fandom for Barnabas Collins as a kid.

Wonderful interview! thank you for sharing it with us... I hope Johnny gets his wish... Mr. Depp has exceptional taste in Vampires. :)

Thanks for the link! Cool ref to Sherlock Holmes, too - what great stories.... I can see him doing that role [but what the hell was that about the Harlem Globetrotters?? ?!?]

I wonder if that ring he mentioned, is one of the original Barnabas Collins rings, that you could get for a nickel and a gum wrapper back in the 60's, and now sells for $600 on ebay. ?!?

Depp would certainly be a good choice to play Barnabas, much better than Ben Cross IMO. Let's hope, as you say, that if it happens they do it right!

I was not much a of JD fan until I saw him as ED WOOD, then in SLEEPY HOLLOW and most recently in FROM HELL. If you remember Bette Davis and Joan Crawford (and Bette's assessment of their respective careers): Joan was the "movie star." Bette was the "actress."
Well, in my book, Johnny Depp is first and foremost an "actor," and after that, a "movie star." He'll be around long after all those pretty faces such as Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have gone to the "has-been hell" of Z-movies. LOL.
