OMG, I had to share this entry from a blog called "Chronicling the Dark Shadowy Vampire Twilight."  Once you get past the intro and a few questionable remarks, it becomes a delightful discussion of "center slices" and the "natural look" of DS actors and fashions.

I liked what Frid had to say about Depp taking on the role of Barnabas. Did Frid actually use the b word? Thanks for posting the article Midnite.

One can actually say "balls" here, jimbo.  [ghost_wink]  Though I suspect it was a word of the author's choosing and not Frid's. I also loved the use of the other B-word: botox.  [ghost_grin]  It would have been terrible if botox had been around back then because some actors' eyebrows are almost characters unto themselves!  [ghost_cheesy]

Oh balls, we could use that word here and I did not know that. jk I figured that was out of character of Frid to say in an interview. (Actually the writer is right. When Ben Cross filmed the 1991 DS he never saw Frid's portrayal of Barnabas so I guess there was less pressure on him if you will. On the other hand Johnny Depp must be under some pressure to take on the iconic role of Barnabas, the man he use to imitate as a kid. How do you play a role hero?) It is a good thing Botox did not impact DS although that could have been someones Master's thesis.

Wow, this was so "right on"!  I watch DS on dvd with my 18 year old and she and loves DS too, but I always try to point out when Vicky is wearing her peignors to entertain guests that that would have NOT been appropriate in those days - LOL.  First time I have posted in a long time but I always like to "visit".  I am still dreaming of going to a DS festival (My daughter and I were considering it but stuff happens!).  Maybe one of these days......
