Title: Who are you?
Post by: Lindsey on July 10, 2002, 03:51:02 AM
I just finished checking out Stuart's new updates on his website, and they are great! My favorite new feature is the What DS character are you? quiz. I encourage everyone to take the quiz, and I am interested in hearing everyone else's results. Thanks Stuart, and I love your site!

Here are my results:

You are Dr. Julia Hoffman!
You're a practical person, always seeking a logical solution to the afterlife's little problems. Whilst essentially an academic and pragmatist, you have a tendency to let yourself be pre-occupied with misplaced romantic thoughts and a dogged desire for tranquility.

My sister took the quiz too and she is most like Vicky. Her answer: "At least I'm not Jeff Clark."

-Lindsey

P.S.- I got my ACT scores back from when I took the test in June (my first time taking it; I just finished my sophomore year), and I got a 28! Woohoo, I'm so excited!  ;D

I am Barnabas Collins!

"I'm not the most up to date of souls, but do my best to appear contemporary. Although sometimes prone to bearing grudges and moments of jealously, I go through life trying to keep things simple and find love along the way..."

Actually, it's pretty accurate. [heh]

Now if I could just find my Dr. Hoffman...

Eek!!!  LOL!

You are Angelique!
You're a misunderstood person who values loyalty and commitment. You might lack the ability to think your actions through thoroughly, but your sense of demure vengeance and natural grace is enough to charm the harshest of critics.

Hmm, I appear to be Julia Hoffman. But it's all a big mistake, see; I was actually Julian Hoffman, and they made a typo and left off the "n" on my first name and now I've got this big gender confusion thing going on b-b-b-but nobody seems to understand and I got this red wig I'm supposed to wear that's terribly ugly because it clashes with my shoes and I really want to complain because I've only had these shoes for a week and the heels are falling off and really I need to be sedated.

I am Quentin  :-/   Not sure that is a good thing!  Remember it says "appearing to be self-serving and inconsiderate"  APPEARING is the operative word ...lol

"You're a classical figure, who remains unchanged in the face of changing times. You are a solitary figure and patron of the arts, preferring your own company, sometimes appearing to be self-serving or inconsiderate as a result. "

As for me, apparently I'm...

Looking at the site stats, most people seem to be Quentin, with no one apparently sharing anything in common with poor Elizabeth... awwwww... ;)

Lindsey,

My God!  They still have the ACT's?  Man, I thought that they went the way of the Volkswagen Beetle and Look Magazine.

As I recall, colleges and universities in the Midwestern portion of the US utilized the ACT rather than the SAT, which was used by East coast and West coast schools.

I wonder how Carolyn, Willie and especially Buzz Hackett would do on either of those exams?  (I guess we all know that the cerebral Vicky and the "super genius," Adam, would have aced out on either exam.)

Sincerely,

Bob the Bartender, a fellow who made Stanley Kaplan just a bit richer.

Well, "You are Elizabeth Collins Stoddard!"

Given the way the choices were, I had a feeling that's how mine was going to come out, although I had a few choices that I'm sure must have really thrown it off!!

Carolyn. Hmmm, I think that is the stock response when you flit all over the place from character to character. Which fits Carolyn, I guess!
Title: Re: Who are you?
Post by: Lindsey on July 11, 2002, 08:54:06 PM
Bob,
Oh yes, the ACT is still alive and kicking! Where I live (in Ohio), most everyone takes the ACT and very few take the SATs. I was eligible through my advanced English class to take the PSAT, which they don't offer often, back in November. And the PLAN test (the practice ACT) is required of all sophomores in my school to take before advancing to 11th grade.

The ACT and SAT are both accepted in most colleges and you can choose to take only one or both of them. The ACT is composed of four different sections (English, Math, Reading, and Science) while the SAT has only three (Math, English, Reading). Also, on the ACT you are encouraged to guess if you don't know the answer, while the SAT takes points off for guessing. (which, as Barnabas would say, bites)

I found the ACT much harder than the PLAN-which is the way it is supposed to be.

I bet Buzz Hackett never even bothered taking the ACT-I doubt he cared about college! Carolyn, on the other hand, probably took the ACT or SAT, but must not have done very well on it, because we don't see her going off to college! However, her and Stokes' "student" got a 36-the highest score!

Many congrats, Stuart, and happy anniversary to your wonderful publication!

I tested out as Carolyn, quite a surprise for me.  Then again, I knew which answers would lead to which character assessment, so maybe I wasn't answering quite honestly.

Of all the DS characters, the one most normal, at least in the beginning, was Maggie, and she's the gal I'd like to be!

But the bitch in me wants to be Angelique!

I am Quentin, although I wonder if being Professor Stokes is an option on this quiz.  I don't think one of the possible answers was, "Pace about your house in your elegant smoking jacket and trademark monacle, while offering your guests a glass of sherry."

But I'm kind of relieved that I didn't have to check off an answer like, "You sway violently when playing the piano."  8)

The options are Angelique, Barnabas, Carolyn, Elizabeth, Julia, Quentin and Vicki.  So now you know...
