I saw this over the weekend. I really, really enjoyed it. As far as Ben Cross is concerned,  [spoiler]he doesn't have a huge part to play. But it was still great![/spoiler]

This review from ModernFilmZine (http://wp.modernfilmzine.com/2009/05/07/finally-star-trek-is-worth-watching-again/) mentions that Ben Cross' appearance in the film is a "nice surprise." It also references his role as Barn in the '91 series.

And this article (http://www.welovesoaps.net/2009/05/star-trek-movie-opens-to-7m-thursday.html) mentions how the cast features several former soap stars (including Cross).
