Who needs global warming, nukes, and pandemics to finish off our species, when the vampires of legend could have done the job within 2 years, over 400 years ago--- IF they had existed?
Oh, to be blinded by science--- a couple of physicists took the time off from their hectic schedules to calculate how a few bloodsucking fiends could have theoretically knocked off half a billion humans in 2 years in the exponential manner of an old Wella shampoo commercial, to quote the article, "He bites two friends, who bite two friends, and so on, and so on…"
(Of course they don't take into account that some fictional vampires didn't automatically kill ALL their victims, nor needed to.)
Is this for real? Here's the story....

I think I had heard about this story a couple of years ago.
It just sounds like yet another instance of a couple of dreary individuals with bean-counting propensities trying to spoil other people's fun because they have none of their own... just my not so humble opinion, of course!
