I'm happy to announce that after a couple years off the WWW (at least in the realm of running my own site), I've just created a Night of DS blog that will be looser, more wild and wooly, and at least be some place where updates can happen... and where I can post news on other films I'm trying to locate etc.
Should be fun.

This is wonderful news, Darren!
The latest relay of media buzz around Depp Shadows has been having me feel more optimistic about the restoration project than has been the case in some time.
Tally Ho!
Best, Steve

Blogspot is great: they host my mental health blog.
I'll be posting by you, Darren: I have a number of things to say about NODS: a film that I think is much better than it's reputation would suggest.
After seeing your new clips at the Castro Theatre,
I think your restored version may get the film to flirt with horror classic status!

To be honest the prospect of a restored NODS excites me more than the Depp movie. If that project triggers the release of Night, then the movie itself, good, bad, or indifferent, will be icing on the cake.

Great news, Darren, I'm so glad to hear this.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I pretty much agree with Doc & K9. While the prospect of the Depp movie is appealing, seeing NoDS as it was meant to be is enough to make one drool (assuming one is inclined to release saliva in his or her spare time).
-
Congratulations, Darren. I know this project has meant so much to you (and many others).

Thanks Nance...It's just a blog though...nothing really new on the restoration front, just showing that the retreat has not been signalled... [snow_laugh]

ooh weee . . I sure read that post too fast. But glad to see the blog up and running again. Hopefully if the movie really happens and takes off you will see the NOS project come to completion.

Two words "young Carlotta."
That's all I'm saying.

You know what kind of tease you are, don't you? [snow_wink]

Wonderful! Glad to hear the blog is back Darren.

THAT is pretty interesting and I'd venture to say . .a difficult casting idea. . [snow_bigglass] see my avatar photo to the LEFT --or other photos on graysonhall.net [snow_sick2]

Julia99, do you really think Dan Curtis would worry about a trivial thing like physical resemblance when casting young Carlotta?

Hi Darren, very happy to hear that you site is back up and on line. Its kind of sad though to hear that it may take till Oct of 2010 to see these films make it to DVD.Is there any chance at all that they can come out this year? If not, well I am happy I still have my Laser Disc of the 2 films. Good luck. MM#7

Glad your blog is back up Darren. Can't wait for the fruits of your labor to come into fruition!

Wonderful to have the blog back. A friend who doesn't frequent many DS boards anymore was asking me about the restoration the other day. I was glad to be able to tell her that although the site is gone, there is a blog she can follow.
Thanks again for everything you've done and are doing. The final product is eagerly anticipated.
