Title: What is your Favorite Storyline?
Post by: jthomas_123 on June 24, 2002, 02:08:51 AM
My fave storyline would be 1897 because it has Quentin and Lady Kitty Hampshire, Kathrine Leigh Scott looked so hot when she played her. ;D

Intellectually, I would hafta say that it's the 1897 storyline.  However, I have such fond memories of the haunting of Collinwood by Quentin in contemporary time (1968-69) when I first watched it, that for me it would hafta be a draw.  Some would say that it's all actually part of the same storyline, so I guess that lets me off the hook.

Most definitely my time, the 1795 flashback... is my utter most favorite storyline, I loved every episode, I only wish they had shown little Sarah play her flute more, as well as interact with her brother who loved her more than any other person on the face of the earth.

Or so he once told Dr. Hoffman....

1897 was good.I enjoy the victorian time period,so that storyline in particular played to that interest. The parallel times are good also.I enjoy watching and comparing the differences between real and parallel time characters. :)

Gee, I can't decide.  1795 was beautiful.  We got to see how, of course, how Barnabas became a vampire, Angelique ( a woman scorned), his Mother and Father, and of course, Sarah.

But......

1897 was fine too.  I-Ching, Evan Hadley, Angelique (again), Barnabas (to save the day...and does), and Quentin and Beth.

I can't make up my mind.!!!

Count Petofi rocks! 1897 with the whole I-Ching thing was great. I also love the one with Bramwell and the "Lottery" where one of the men will die. What year was that?

That was the 1841 PT storyline.

Hey there...My favortie storyline so far is the Laura Collins/Phoenix storyline.Diana Millay played the role great and did a pretty good job considering the fact that she was pregnant. She is a great actress and was extremely passionate about her role and did a great job of portraying a "phoenix".

Adra ;D

P.S...hey Chris_2....now she's one that could really light your fire! :D

1795, a well-thought-out, complete and satisfying, if depressing, storyline about how Barnabas became a vampire.  It introduced Angelique, who would haunt him forever, and drew us into a world of witchcraft and possessive love that resonates in my mind to this day.  The costumes were gorgeous, certain characters unforgettable (Trask, Countess duPres, Josette, Angelique, Nathan, Millicent, Suki) and much of the dialogue rocked.

Love, Robin

I truly enjoyed the 1795 storyline.  How Barnabas became a vampire - that explanation was necessary.    The 1897 storyline was interesting, as well.   And, how Angelique was really Miranda du Val - towards the end of the series.   :)   That helped pinpoint her powers for me.

****POSSIBLE SPOILER, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!***

The very first Episode i ever saw of Dark Shadows was in the 1897 Storyline.

I faintly remember it, all I remembered was, I think Reverend Trask figured out Quentin's Secret, and It was a night of a Full moon and Quentin had Magda Chain him up to a wall, and told her to shoot him if he gets away.

I'll never forget it. ;)

This is a great topic!  My favorite is the 1897 storyline with Quentin, Count Petofi, Angelique, Laura the Phoenix and Barnabas!!  So many supernaturals in that storyline, which is one of the reasons why I love it!    There never seems to be room for a dull moment there either.  The whole werewolf story really intriged me to no end. I found it facinating!!

My favorite storyline is the 1897 one. As Debra points out there are so many supernatural people in this storyline, but unlike 1968 they are all so much fun! The characters grow and change in this one: Quentin stands out the most. I also loved 1795, but in this one the change they make to Nathan just didn't seem to ring true; he was too nice in the beginning and then just became a bastard.

I have to go with 1967 Barnabas' intro.  Those were the first episodes I watched as a child and I just love that whole storyline.
