TCM has been airing beach movies all day today. Saw Roger Davis in "Ride the Wild Surf" 1964.

Egad... you just made me picture a scowling Roger in a suit surfing on the crest of a wave with a brandy in one hand!
-
Mag, baby- she meant Roger Davis, not Collins! (Although Louis Edmonds would've added some class to the flick......)
-
As far as 60s beach movies go, this one isn't too bad, with several familar faces, including Fabian, Shelley Fabares, Barbara Eden and Tab Hunter (in addition to Roger Davis.) It's good old-fashioned beach-party fun for us old-timers who grew up with these films. ;)

It isn't too good either. [santa_wink] Apparently the concept of "classic" in Turner Classic Movies has been downgraded several notches. [santa_cheesy] They must have also abandoned their pledge to showcase "the greatest motion pictures of all time!" [santa_grin]

ooooooooooops...
MB-- Maybe they're showcasing great films by presenting worse ones in order to make the great ones look greater by contrast.

If that's the case, then contrasting the great films with things like Ride The Wild Surf would certainly be the way to go!! [santa_cheesy] [santa_grin]

I wish I could find a good link to the fine picture of Edmonds and Jonathan Frid on the beach for this topic. That would definitely have added class to the movie.
