David Selby will play the role of Abraham Lincoln in The Heavens are Hung in Black, a new play by James Still commissioned to celebrate the grand reopening of Ford's Theatre in Washington, DC and the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birthday. Previews begin February 3 with performances through March 8.

Figured this was probably going to be the case. A piece in the Chicago Tribune (http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2008/12/almost_showtime_for_fords_thea.html) indicates that President-elect Obama has been invited to a VIP performance of the play on Feb. 11, but no word on whether he plans to attend.

The cast hasn't been formally announced by Ford's, so that's not the writer's fault.
