Title: Festival head count
Post by: CrazyJenny on June 17, 2002, 05:02:06 AM
Hey, Who here will be at the convention?  I'm guessing there will be quite alot more families there this year since its in the middle of the summer at Disneyland.  It should be fun.

I am going, it will be my 5th Dark Shadows Festival. I too look forward to meeting new people and seeing the ones I already know again. It's always fun, but the time to leave comes much too quickly. I have my Craig Slocum memorial t-shirts all made up and ready to wear, one for every day. Awesome!  ;)

I will be at the Festival (my third!)  Now I have a question: how many people are going to Disneyland?  I didn't sign up for the trip, and now I'm wondering if I should while there's still time.

Looking forward to seeing all of you at the Fest! :)

Looking forward to seeing you again ProfStokes, no Disneyland for me, not enough energy for that and the festival. Besides, I wouldn't want to go there unless my daughter was with me. She'll be here, going to school. See you at the fest!  :)

I have been to Disneyland several times so I won't be going on the official Friday trip. I do hope to get there either during the Fest or immediately after.

I will be there, can't wait for a little vacation!  This will be my second fest.  I am going solo this year, so I hope to meet some of you!  I am going on the Friday trip, California Adventure.  I wanted to check out the new park.

Hobbies, you are not the only one going solo so don't feel too bad. I am passing on the Disney trip, not much of a amusement park rider due to a neck injury so I will spend my day sleeping in and I might even get my nails done. I am also volunteering again this year.
I'll look for you.

My Hubby  :-* and I will be attending our First Fest. We are coming in town a few days early to do some touristy :o things like DL and DCA. You won't be able to miss us just look for the couple who remind you of the nursery rhyme "Jack Sprat" (hint... I am short and fat and he is tall and thin) ;D
8)Looking forward to seeing you all at the fest!

I am going solo too, my Mom who lives in CA wanted to go so bad, but due to surgeries and complications for the last several months, there's not a chance. Bummer for her. My dad had a heart attack a year ago, and she didn't get to go last year either.

As Minja pointed out, I'll be there as well. This will be my 12th Festival. I was just at Disneyland and California Adventure in Oct. , but I love Disneyland and can't wait to feel the magic again.  ;D  For those adventure seekers, Space Mountain at Disneyland really rocks, it makes Space Mountain at Disneyworld seem like a kiddie ride.  :)  Bob

Bob recently pointed out to me that it's my 6th Fest.  Hard to believe!

Regarding meeting up with each other, do please check the bulletin board near the Festival registration/information area.  PatrickM from the SciFi boards will be posting a notice sometime on Friday with info on where and when the meeting will be on Saturday.  Pat (Prez of the Florida fan group) has generously invited dsboards users to join them.  He'll either be reserving one of the rooms that Jim Pierson usually sets aside for fan events, or he'll find some other appropriate place (the bar?  hee hee!!).

BTW, I understand there's a piano in the convention area that guests are allowed to use.  Ah, Gerard, if only you were coming out so we could be treated to that duet with Ben we were once promised, <sigh>.

Glad to hear there is a place where we can check for meetings/get togethers.  Since I'm traveling solo I would really like to be able to meet up with others.  *Also, glad to hear I'm not the only one going solo.

So is anyone going to California Adventure or is everyone heading to Disneyland?  I choose California Adventure because I live in Florida and hit DisneyWorld several times a year.  Love it, but wanted to try some place new.

Well, if someone can locate Count Petofi's heralded relic, I can at least arrange for a three-handed duet.  ;)

And Julia99, besides the Grayson-themed t-shirts, red hair, and shades, perhaps you should stroll around ever-so-casually holding that hypodermic ... and then we'll know it's you for sure!  8)

Looking forward to reuniting with many old friends from last year, as well as meeting new ones.

Hey Bob!
The three amigas (Karen #1, Susan and I) will most likely see you at Disneyland, probably bump into you on Space Mountain!

Picked up some TGIF Mudslide mix today, as well as the Margaritaville mix. Karen #1 is bringing tequilla. You're on Orange Whip patrol, right?  ;D

Now, I just have to find the top to my blender, or else we'll all be wearing raincoats! LOL!  :o

C ya there!

I plan to ride Space Mountain at least twice,  (before lunch) ;D so perhaps we will hook up there, if not at the hotel before hand.

Ah i was just looking at the TGIF Mudslides at the store yesterday and thinking on picking up a bottle......you are a mindreader. I know Mudslides are a particular favorite of a certain author of a recent Dark Shadows novel, but, alas, that author will not be able to attend the festivities this year, so we will have to imbibe in his honor, or lack there of.  ;D

As far as the Orange Dream's go, I've already secured a bottle of them. I hope you find the top to the blender. ;)

Yer KILLING me!!  :'( :-[ I won't be able to go again this year, as I have logged so many miles on the credit card recently, [the schedule looks great!  Hennesy's mother? ?!?]but have a royal M'ville toast for this English Cousin [and somebody take lots and lots of photos of TLATKLS! ;)]

and if you have never been to D'land MAKE SURE that is on yer calendar - it is the [un]real thing! I have made two visits, almost 40 years apart, and it was wonderful both times.

cheers,

Ooops ;D  Dated myself again.  I used to think Paladin was sooooooooo cool.  However..... I was very young at the time so the details have faded from my memory. ;)  Ahem, it WAS my tender years at THAT time that caused this memory problem, NOT my advanced years at this end. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it;D ;D ;D

Seriouly, that show (Was it actually named "Have Gun/Will Travel ?!?) and Zoro and Maverick and a handful of other 50's shows that were in re-runs in the early 60's were great fun to watch. IMHO :)  Not as much fun as DS, mind you, but....

Hey Malia!

First thing in the AM, as *soon* as we can get ahold of those hot little tickets. Wanna join us? We'll need a "4th" to even out the ride seating on Space Mountain, woo hoo! Heck! The more the merrier!

Oh cool ;D   I bought a ticket thru the Fest.  I believe group ticket holders are to meet at the gate at 10am (when the Park opens).   Is that right?

Karen, I'd love to join y'all and make a nicely balanced 4th on those seating arrangements 8)  Space Mountain...Watchout ;)

Karen...keep an eye out for a continuation of this Disney plotting and planning in a private email.

I remember "Have Gun Will Travel", my dad watched it a lot. My favorite was "Maverick", I have the Collector's Series. When I was 12, I had the biggest crush on Bart Maverick (Jack Kelly). I think he passed away in the 80s.

I really like Maverick too.  Funny, I had a thing for Jack Kelly also.  I didn't know he had passed away.  James Garner isn't too hard to take either.  I have caught it on TV land on occasion.

It's been a number of years since Jack Kelly passed away. I remember my Mom telling me she heard about it on the news, she knew I liked him so much.
