On my hellacious ride home from work tonight, I labored on the idea of what would happen if the writers decided to pair Barnabas and Buzz. Would staltworthy Cousin Barnabas have interferred in Carolyn's sex life? Barnabas took interest when Roger told him of the goings-on betwix Liz & Jason. Buzz seems to disappear there. Now I'm not saying that Carolyn didn't dump her suitors at the drop of a hat, but does anyone here think that Barnabas would have kilt Buzz to help out?

I could see Barnabas not killing Buzz, but just biting him to bring him under his control. He then tells Buzz to dump Carolyn, get on his bike, and high-tail it out of Collinsport to points unknown. Then, after Barnabas is cured of his vampirism, maybe in the Adam/dream-curse storyline, Buzz, no longer under Barnabas' influence (nor remembering he got bitten), returns to Collinsport to try and court Carolyn again. Carolyn doesn't want anything to do with him and that PO's Buzz. He decides to either get Carolyn back, or avenge his now being rejected. And then maybe he and Adam could duke it out. Carolyn, of course, has no problem with Adam coming to the defense of her virtue, but she doesn't return the affection. So that ticks off Adam even more. Now he kinda understands Buzz's situation, maybe even "associates" with him somewhat. Who knows where this could've gone?

Would Barnabas have interfered? Would the new cousin have tried to help Liz rid Colinwoodwood of Buzz?

Funny how Buzz disappears just after the Liz/Jason wedding.

I don't think it's unusual we never see Buzz again once Jason is gone. Carolyn never really had any use for him other than using him as a way to rebel against her mother's wedding plans. I don't even think he took all that marriage talk Carolyn was going on about all that seriously. He probably found another rebellious chick to ride around with on his motorcycle after Carolyn handed him his walking papers.

He would even have force-fed haggis to Buzz if he felt it necessary, anything to protect Carolyn, who was his own flesh and blood, after all....

Baranbas and Buzz together would have been hilarious. Or, hey, imagine what could have happened had Buzz opened the coffin instead of Willie.

I agree that once Buzz outlived his usefullness to Carolyn, he was history. Buzz may have entertained ideas of becoming part of the Collins clan but I agree that it was shortl-lived.

Barnabas had a problem with Willie, I would love to see the problems he would have had with Buzz. Would the Bike and the leather jacket be the first thing to go. Moving the cows on the bike.

Buzz? Buzz who? You mean that little slacker who enjoyed bullying Carolyn around and showed us his hip moves at the Blue Whale? Oh please. Old Barn didn't have to do anything to him..he probably drove his motorcycle over Widow's Hill in a drunken stupor.

Buzz had his limbs ripped off some time in 1968. This same fate befell every man (save Joe and Burke) whose name was written in a little black book by Carolyn's bed. The last time anyone saw that book, Adam had it.

I don't think Barnabas would kill Buzz, if Buzz is no threat to him. But if Buzz did find out about Barnabas secret of
being a vampire and sleeping in a coffin, Barnabas will kill him. That is what happened to Jason and almost to Burke.

There was a great opportunity for Buzz and Jason Mcguire[spoiler]to square off during the scene where buzz was sitting on the collinwood stairwell trying to block Jason coming down....it could of escalated to a real fanny kicker with Jason taking Buzz on[/spoiler]
but instead we are left to wonder Buzz whereabouts after the wedding.
I feel sure if Barnabas had been given a chance to see that cycle that Buzz was driving around he would of wanted it....heck who wouldnt after coming out of the box after 175 years...he would of used Buzz to round up the cattle he needed and would of strangled him if he got too cocky

I just had a vision of Barnabas tooling around town on Buzz' motorcycle, cape (he would never sacrifice it for a leather jacket [ghost_wink]) flapping in the breeze...

Hey man, do I hear my name being called? First of all I loved Carolyn and didn't give a rat's @$$ about the Collin's cash, but I was the one who cut out when I found out Carolyn was playing me for a fool! I was probably the most stable boyfriend she ever had on the show!
As far as that Barnabas cat, he may have been a little square but I think I would have dug the cape and cane.
OK, going out of character I will say Buzz and Barnabas should have met up at least once on the show. The expression on Barnabas' face would have been priceless. I don't think there should have been too much interaction between the two, but a meeting would have been interesting, if played correctly.

I made all kinds of mistakes when I first started posting full time. I find it's good to go back and re read the rules from time to time so I thought I would suggest that to you. Plus Midnite and MB are [ghost_cool] cats!! And it's there job to keep us all on track! So relax and have fun!! [banana2]

Thanks for the heads up. it's appreciated. BTW, I enjoyed Buzz's confrontations with Jason. While Buzz was a character, he did have integrity and couldn't be bought off by Jason. He and Carolyn could have had a nice life together, traveling on the road, looking for adventures, don't you think? [ghost_mellow]

I am only seeing the early episodes for the first time as I am buying DS The Beginning on DVD. I haven't gotten to Buzz yet so I can't really remark either way. I think Buzz looks fun though from watching him and Carolyn shimmy and shake their grove thang at The Blue Whale on the DS Music Videos Compliation.

Buzz isn't in The Beginnning, he's in the early Barnabas eps, so the full Hackett glory is available on DVD in the first collection or two already.

But I wish they have shown Carolyn admitting to Buzz that she only wanted to marry
him just to spite Elizabeth. Then we could have seen Buzz being angry at Carolyn and
leaving Collinsport for good.
