The Boys in the Band finally comes to DVD.
I understand some of the actors in the movie auditioned for DS, not sure if it was for Morgan Collins.

You mean Keith Prentice. Boys/Band was filmed, I think, sometime in 1969 with a 1970 release date. While the original cast was filming the movie, Don Briscoe was playing in it on Broadway (this was while his 1897 character Tim was "away"). Interestingly, Christopher Bernau who later appeared on DS as Philip Todd was also in the 1969 replacement cast in the B'way production of Boys/Band.
I think there may be other links between DS and Boys/Band, but I can't recall offhand.

Those are indeed the three DS connections to Boys in the Band.
But I think it was an off-Broadway production, that should have made it to the Great White Way, but didn't.

Both were shot by Arthur Ornitz, too. It also shares several crew people that worked on HODS.
