Well Hello!
I was at the Philadelphia Museum of Art today, enjoying an exhibit of American Folk Art. Among the paintings was this portrait

of David Witmer, Sr. (c. 1835, artist unknown).
I might be imagining things, but I think the portrait bears a bit of a resemblance to Jonathan Frid, as if Mr. Witmer could have been a DS character played by him in a flashback.
Anyone else see the resemblance?
John

Jonathan Frid and Mandy Patinkin's baby from the past.

Oh my goodness!
John, I don't think you're imagining it at all.

spittin' image

That is wild. Perfect catch, Claude.

Yes I do see it. Tighten up the face a bit and darken the hair, and it's as if he did have Frid sit for the portrait.

Talk about life imitating art! Who painted it- Charles Delaware Tate or Sam Evans' ancestor?
