Title: Wild review of Dark Shadows: The Beginning Collection 3
Post by: Charles_Ellis on March 18, 2008, 10:56:46 PM
This reviewer does some terrible mispellings of names of actors and characters, yet he does know his DS history.  For us DS Forums regulars, you'll all be pleased to know that the review has special emphasis on THE PEN!!

Well, shouldn't it go without saying that THE PEN should get special emphasis? I mean, anyone overlooking its massive significance in that storyline, yea, in the entire DS oeuvre would be a, well, let's be polite and simply say they would be a dunce!  [snow_wink]  Though how dare he say that the "fountain tipped plot pointing" is enough to "pray for the quick arrival of the hated Leviathans."  [snow_wow]  [snow_mad]  Ha! The Leviathans aren't even worthy of the task of blotting THE PEN's ink. Their significance by comparison is a mere blip in the annals of DS!!

Did The Pen at least write underwater?

Complex universal truths  make themselves known upon repeated viewings of The Pen storyline.  Would DS even be remembered today if it weren't for The Pen?  No.  No it would not.   All hail the might and majesty of The Pen.

It's nice to see such appreciation for a period in the show's history that used to be routinely dissed without defense because nobody had ever seen it (yes, that's how long in fandom I've been around).

I'm glad the DS reviews on that site have, on the whole, been of such good quality.  I just read the two Peter Gunn reviews on the site, and it sounds as if the reviewer hardly even bothered to watch more than a few moments of one show on each set.

a dispute over the ownership of a cannery
I first read that as "a dispute over the ownership of a canary" and wondered how I managed to miss that.

Did The Pen at least write underwater?

No, but it might have written under whipped cream. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.

Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk indeed.... I'm not sure what I just said meant anything...

It's official - we're all insane!  [nut]

But then, would we want it any differently? Just think of how dull it would be around here if we weren't.  [b003]

Oh, and MB, I'll watch the 'fanfic' from now on... It didn't occur to me that this counted...

Lydia, thanks... arashi, I wish my computing device had speakers and could handle moving images longer than seven seconds.   Thanks.
