Post by: michael c on March 04, 2008, 06:39:28 PM
today's slideshow marks one of the show's most momentous departures...

in episode 180 joe haskell,dr.guthrie and frank garner dig up the grave of laura murdoch stockbridge only to discover that the body has disappeared.then frank does his own disappearing act.

after this episode the character(and actor conrad fowkes)is never seen again. [snow_cry]

And here's Frank's final moment:

1967: Ep #180 - Dr. Guthrie proclaims that the article in the
cemetery's records about Laura Murdoch Radcliffe's death could
only have become faded the way it has by being exposed to
the 'powerful light' of a fire.

It's too bad that Conard Fowkes had already moved on to other soaps because just imagine how much more interesting Peter/Jeff might have been had he been available.

MB, I didn't know he went to other soaps. Do you know which?

Thanks,

Patti

And they never explained Frank's disappearing act, either. Not that it would be the last time the writers left a character's fate in limbo. [snow_rolleyes]

I agree it's a pity Conard Fowkes didn't stay on the show....it would have been interesting to see a Burke/Vicki/Frank triangle brewing up.
