Title: DS song played before Broadway play started
Post by: bluedog on February 15, 2008, 03:54:21 AM
Do you all remember that song on the juke box that Carolyn danced to?    They played it at least twice before the curtain went up.  It brought back memories.  The play was Die Mommie Die.

It makes good sense, Charles Busch (gender illusionist supreme) who wrote and starred in "Die, Mommie, Die" is a DS fan and many of His characters have Grayson like qualities.  My hope is that should the new proposed Depp film be an homage to the original show that Mr. Busch will be asked to step into Grayon's lab coat... he would be amazing!!!

As much as I enjoy & admire Busch's work,
he'd be a BAD choice to play Julia in a serious DS movie.
He'd come across like The Brady Bunch Movie, it wouldn't work.

Now if Busch were to play Julia in a self~aware DS spoof, THAT would be GRAND!

My point exactly, should a film version be done lovingly tounge in cheek , in the style of The Brady Bunch films, rather than a serious updated version, Busch would be a great choice for the role.
