This is the first time I've seen this episode since watching the Matthew Morgan storyline from the first year. It gives a different feel to the episode. Once upon a time Vicky was imprisoned in the secret room in the Old House, and now she flees into that same room in order to escape from her pursuers. And the man who today aided her by putting her in the room looked just like the man who imprisoned her there in 1966, and the little boy who found her today there looked like the little boy who found her there in 1966. Sort of eerie-feeling.
When Vicky was shocked that Millicent had gotten married, I suddenly thought: "In the original 1795, Nathan got Phyllis Wick pregnant and had to marry her so that he couldn't marry Millicent, but in this 1795, Vicky wouldn't have anything to do with Nathan, so he was free to marry Millicent." That raises difficulties, though, as to how Joshua would have found Barnabas in the basement.
Poor Daniel. If only he had gotten that second pair of boots and run away, surely his life would have been much happier!

In all my years following DS I had never heard that Phyllis Wick got pregnant by Nathan. When was this revelation? I thought I knew all the lore. I know that a lot of the story got changed once tney actually went back to 1795. Can any one help me on what episodes or story line that part of the story was introduced.

Oh dear me, it never happened except in my overactive imagination. Very sorry to have confused you, especially when I'm so happy to see you in the Watching Project, Maggie Babe!

I knew what you meant, Lydia! I know you have an overactive imagination! [snow_wink]
As I watched this episode, I wondered about Vicki saving Daniel from getting killed by Nathan. In the original storyline, did Phyllis Wick save Daniel? Did Jeff fall in love with Phyllis Wick and break her out of the gaol instead of Vicki? [snow_huh]
I like Ben. He was very kind and gentle to Vicki. [snow_happy] I thought Jeff and Vicki looked cute together when they were leaning on each other as they slept in the mausoleum. [snow_kiss] I knew it was a bad idea for Daniel to hug Vicki. It figures that Nathan would find blood on Daniel's shirt. Daniel did a great job of avoiding telling Nathan the truth. [thumb] Being greedy sure has changed Nathan! I hate him now! [snow_angry]

I've wondered the same thing about Phyllis Wick being in Vicki's shoes in the original history....being accused then convicted of witchcraft, falling in love with Peter, saving Daniel....if all that did happen to Ms. Wick then one can say in the long-run she ended up getting the short end of the stick. Those who have seen the show know what I mean.
Nathan has turned into an absolute creep. He's sitting around, enjoying the brandy, not giving a second thought about Millicent (and not feeling the least bit remorseful about what's happened to her), threatening Daniel. I agree with you EmeraldRose, I can't stand him now either!

One might almost suspect that he was under Angelique's spell....? His personality did get significantly meaner than early Forbes ever seemed to be.

Oh, now that's a thought, Magnus. I like it! [snow_cool]
How dare Nathan treat Daniel so roughly! [snow_angry]
