Osnafla from San Francisco here....
Glad to see this forum on the Net....there has never been anything on daytime drama with the mythic power of Dark Shadows.....the show made its debut when I was 13....I devoured this show....the black and white format suited the drama perfectly, casting a gloomy patina over the procedings...I caught some flack from my classmates (boys weren't supposed to like this kind of thing). But when Barnabas arrived at Collingwood, everybody regardless of gender began to watch....the romance, suspense and mystery of DS gave us a welcome temporary escape from the horrors of the Vietnam.

I'm so glad to see our new member here!
I introduced him to this board only last night.

Osnafla & I live a block from each other in San Francisco.
We met at a party at the home of a mutual friend a few weeks ago.
I dont recall how DS came up, but we soon realized that we were both die hard, life long fans.

Starting this Sunday, Osnafla, our mutual friend & I will be
commencing our own DS Watching Project.
We'll be meeting once a month for 10 episode DS marathons, starting with the intro of Barnabas in 1967.
We'll watch the entire seres in sequence, month to month.
