The scene where Prof. Stokes compels Barnabas to identify Cassandra as the suspected witch called to mind the dramatic scene in 1795 where Barnabas compelled the good professor's ancestor, Ben, to identify Angelique as the witch. I enjoyed the poignant exchanges leading to the submissive character naming the witch.
How interesting (and clever) that the tables were turned two centuries later. Barnabas was the dominant character in 1795 but the submissive one in 1968.
I admire the way Frid and David worked together, and I'm simply blown away by the striking contrast between David's characters in these two scenes.

Hi Ben, I agree. Thayer David was a wonderful gifted actor. Most of his character roles were as different as night and day, from Ben right down to Count Petofi. A wonderful, gifted actor! :)

I *still* have trouble believing that Matthew Morgan and elegant Prof Stokes are the same actor ..... WOW! I'm looking 4ward 2 meeting Count Petofi....and his hand...? right? ?!? ::) lol

Good observation, Ben. I hadn't noticed this parallel. Another example of the complex web of interconnected themes in the series.
P.S. Welcome back!
Daphne ... You'll also have the "Parallel Time" Stokes to look forward to, as well as a very changed Professor in 1995 ... Although from your name it appears you're familiar with the whole 1995 - 1840 business. :)

Dearest Impaler,
I first started watching in the episode where Daphne finds Joanna's cape. I have no idea the #, I've tried looking to no avail. But I haven't seen 1995; I didn't even know they WENT there....... :o it was quite a shock 4 me. But I kindasorta grasped the 1840 TL....all I knew was the Quentin was going 2 die *tear* :'( Really, what else matters??? HAHAHEHE ;) ;D
But I look 4ward 2 seeing TD in another role....his characters are always so dif and interesting..... ;D eeee

If you're looking forward to a real departure, just wait until you meet Sandor.

Thank you for pointing that out to us, Ben. I'd completely missed the significance.
Later, during the Dream Curse, the professor turns the tables again, proving once more just how different he is from his ancestor Ben.
