Robservations #406

I couldn't believe it when the closing credits started for this episode. It seemed only about ten minutes long.
Reality seemed suspended today. Maybe it was Angelique's apparent return from the dead that did it. When Josette's neck started streaming blood, it didn't make any sense, because I don't believe that there was a mystical union between Barnabas and Josette; I just believe that they were in love and would have made a good, solid marriage. But the blood didn't have to make sense. And when Barnabas in his fever insisted that he had to go to Josette, it seemed to me that if he made it to Josette, he would be cured and everything would be all right. And I don't think that was correct - but that was the feeling that was conveyed. Or maybe what made me believe it all was that every time I watch 1795, I keep hoping that it will end differently.
Anyway, for me it was a magical episode.

Yes, indeed, this was a fabulous episode! [hall_cheesy] The acting was top rate! [clap2] I agree, it was puzzling how Josette's neck kept bleeding. [idontknow] I think Angelique's spell probably caused Josette and Barnabas to be so connected. [ideag] It seemed to me that the bat was going to attack Josette, too. [shkdg] But I guess it was just watching her. Poor Barnabas got sick right away. [bawl] It was surprising to discover that Angelique was alive.[hall2_shocked] This was DS at its best!

And Barnabas used to be such an amazing shot! What with shooting his Uncle in the chest and managing to hit him in the face as well! Too bad that shot (for his sake) wasn't a couple inches more to the right....
Good episodes though, nice use of make-up... I love that dress on Angelique.
I too wondered about that bat at the window. I guess it was just there for effect, like a really obvious wink at the audience. And I don't know about you but I've NEVER seen a bat hover outside anyone's window and yet it never really strikes anyone as incredibly odd in horror movies when they do.

Sweet loyal Ben to the rescue!! [hall2_cool] He's always there when Barnabas needs him. I love how he became so angry with Angelique, but in the end as usual, she gets her own way. This episode is great!
