Title: DS mention in BUFFY mag
Post by: Midnite on May 18, 2002, 05:17:56 AM
June's Buffy the Vampire Slayer magazine has an interview with guest star Tom Lenk (Cyrus the minion and more recently nerdy villain Andrew) that closes with the following paragraph:

"And though Buffy may have endeared Tom to Boba Fett and Liza Minelli, don't expect him to get drawn easily into any other vampire shows.  'I do sit through Dark Shadows every morning,' he says.  'Is it a soap opera?  Or is it just really bad acting?  Sometimes they look over, and they're reading their dialogue off a poster.  It is so frightening!  My roommate has it on every morning, and I wake up to it.  Are they British, or are they not?  I can't tell because sometimes the accents are really bad!'"

Anyone familiar with this guy's annoying character will understand when I say that I'm SO going to enjoy whatever Evil Willow has in store for him next Tuesday.  ("Bored now." ;))

...Boorrrred...nooowww!  ;D ;D...Gawd I love it when Willow says that!!!!

Boy oh Boy I hope he's one of the casualties of Wilow's newly embraced Dark Revenge Mojo!!!  Both his portrayals of Harmony's inept lackey and his latest incarnation as the equally inept member of the Nerdy Trio were like fingernails on the chalkboard to my viewing senses.  His interview that Midnite just posted makes the real life character just as irritating.  Sooooo, the characters of Cyrus and Andrew weren't really that much of a stretch for him.  >:( >:(I'm even more impatient than ever for Tuesday to get here for the exciting 2 hour season finale of Buffy!

Wonder if Revenge Mode Willow will "play" with Andrew the same as Vamp Willow did with Angel in the alternate world?????  Now that would be JUSTICE!!!

Thanks for the info Midnite! But, I also hope Jonathan is spared.

I'll just cite a famous quip: "There's no such thing as bad publicity except your own obituary"

Ahem  :D

What a turd!

Does he think his acting is something special.

I don't.  Enough talk of Tom Lenk.

Bored now.

I've been wondering who the heck this guy was supposed to be - he keeps being referred to as "so-and-so's brother" (can't even remember the brother's name) and I don't ever remember seeing him on the show until the trio of nerds was introduced this season. Warren and Jonathan I remember vividly but not this guy. I don't remember him interacting w/Harmony either.

Drawing a big ol' blank.
?!?

In Season 3  Episode: The Prom, Tucker Wells is the master of some Hellhounds that he trains and plans to "sick" on the attendees of the Sunnydale High School prom.  I can't remember where it's explained but Andrew is his brother and he's seeking to "get" Buffy back for thwarting his brother's canine hinjinx.

In Season 5 Episode: Real Me, Harmony gathers a collective of Vamps that she refers to as her minions or lackeys, to help her defeat Buffy and the other "Scoobies".  Tom Lenk, who plays Andrew now, played the Vamp minion Cyrus in that ep.

Hope this helps Chris!  It threw me at first too! ;)

Don't forget to watch Tueday's sure-to-be-exciting Season Finale!  A 2 hour Buffy-palooza! [fangs]

Chris_2,

As Harmony's minion, he was only recognizable by his voice.  If you'd like, I can send you a pic of what he looked like as a vampire.

Funny.

I've thought this year that if DS is ever a series again or, say, there's a big screen version, Lenk would be a perfect Noah Gifford. ;D
