Robservations #403

(Be forewarned that if you peek ahead at the captures for Ep #404, you might be horrified by who you discover making his first appearance.  [hall2_shocked]  You might want to give yourself at least one more day before you have to deal with it.  [hall2_grin])

If Angelique truly didn't want the duel between Barnabas and Jeremiah to happen, then why did she let it happen?  With all that she had done and all that she could do, she could have found a way to stop it.  Very likely she was having too much fun making Josette miserable to stop the duel.

Angelique still believes she can win Barnabas's love.  Some process has gotten stuck in her mind, and she needs to be rebooted.

And Barnabas still believes that he has control of the situation.  I understand his desire to protect Josette - but surely the simplest temporary solution would be to go away with Angelique, which Angelique wants, rather than to try to get Josette to go away.

It's good to see Millicent again.

I think the scene between Barnabas and Angelique, in which he accuses her of being a witch and she confesses that she was responsible for all the recent happenings, was one of the best of the series. It set the tone for almost all events and issues to come. There was no doubt that Angelique was not about to let Barnabas go when she issued her ultimatum--------Josette will suffer if Barnabas leaves her. Angelique also didn't seem too concerned that Sarah suffered one of her "spells". This woman has no conscience, which is one characteristic of "evil". LP plays the part beautifully.

FAV-O-RITE episode! Seriously, the exchange between B&A in the beginning is just fantastic. Raw emotion on display and a great example of both actors at their best.

That confrontation between Barnabas and Angelique was fantastic! Brilliantly played by JF and LP. [clap2] Barnabas was in the same predicament as Ben; Angelique prevented them both from killing her. I felt sorry for Barnabas. [sadg] That was exciting when Angelique stopped Barnabas from stabbing her by making him unable to move any closer to her! [hall2_grin] It was so satisfying to hear Angelique confess to Barnabas the extent of her crimes! [hall2_wink]

It was good to see Millicent again. She and Nathan were cute together.  [love8]

That bat at the end sure was spooky! [shkdg]

I can't believe Angelique is blaming Barnabas for all the witchcraft that has happened, simply because he wouldn't love her. Give me a break!

Spoiler:

I wonder if that bat at the end of the episode was the same bat that will soon turn Barnabas in to a vampire.

Barnabas is going to trurn into a vampire?   That's the worst spoiler, ever!

Poor Millicent. Nobody gives a hoot about her "virtue" but her.  The look of impatient annoyance on Barnabas' face was absolutely priceless. Those scenes were very funny, some of the very few intentionally humorous moments in the history of the series.
