During the Series there were numerous times that romance was suggested (by words, expressions, etc. )but not completely carried out.
When did those special scenes occur and who was involved? :-*
-
Oooo, I'm drawing a blank on this one. All I can think of are several instances of unrequited love¢â‚¬¦Julia for Barnabas, Barnabas for Vicki, Willie for Maggie, Carolyn for Burk, Crazy Jenny for Quentin, Beth for Quentin, me for Quentin¢â‚¬¦oh, sorry that was in my mind, not the show. [silly]
-
I think Harry Johnson tried to give Carolyn Stoddard a romantic hint one day when he put his hand on her, but she quickly shoved it away. What's wrong with her??? :-*
-
Oh, and how could I forget the most dangerous and destructive case of unrequited love...Angelique for Barnabas! [pissd]
-
I believe that both Bill Malloy and Matthew Morgan were attracted to Elizabeth Stoddard, but she didn't feel the same way toward them.

I really felt that Jeremiah had a thing for Vicky when she first arrived in 1795. Just the way he looked at her & talked to her I could tell there was somthing there. Then, as we all know, Angelique got involved with her spells, and that was the end of that.

I also felt that Desmond Collins was very attracted to Daphne when she first arrived in Collinsport. You could see he was very interested in her and I believe he even asked her out to dinner. She, however, didn't feel the same way about him.

Charles D. Tate with Amanda(Ick)Harris
always found it funny that he created her and she
was not interested in him! :o

Roger implies his dissatisfaction with the state of his affairs to Cassandra ("and do we do what I want to do?") ;)

Willie had a thing for Carolyn as well as Maggie and Vicki at various times.
Nathan Forbes eyed Vicki Winters in the past real well. Joel Crothers had chemistry with every actress on the show, same thing David Selby had. Hell, Selby had it with every actress he worked with on Falcon Crest, too.
Frank Garner seemed to be veering towards Carolyn Stoddard at the time of Liz's hospitilization from Laura's spell in late 1966. The show was putting Vicki back with Burke so Frank had been kind of a temporary roadblock. Conard Fowkes(Frank) left though to work on The Edge of Night if I'm not mistaken so the Frank/Carolyn plot didn't go anywhere. Thought Carolyn also had feelings for Dr. Guthrie.

and don't forget about that 'wild night' he had with Carolyn AND Vickie! [see photos in 'Give Me The WILLIE's' premier issue!] :o

Another one I just thought of was that creepy Gregory Trask. He seemed to have a thing for Rachel Drummond, and she of course wanted nothing to do with him. Can you blame her? >:(
Eve had eyes for Jeff Clark once she met him. He, on the other hand, only had eyes for Vicky. ;)

Adam had a huge crush on Carolyn, but unfortunately, she didn't feel the same way about him. :o

SPOILERS. . .
When Joe was still going with Carolyn, Maggie expressed interest on the dance floor at the Blue Whale. Once Carolyn was out of the picture, Maggie pounced--and got her man!
I always enjoyed Maggie's aggresiveness, but After Alex Moltke left, she changed into a namby pamby Vicki type.
Willie always loved Maggie, but there was no interest in return.
Eve wanted Nicholas Blair, but he refused to give her a tumble and told her she belonged to Adam, who she despised.
I always thought Eliot Stokes had a thing for Julia, too, but he kept it well-hidden.
Roger loves Cassandra, but she is just using him to get at Barnabas.
Bill Malloy definitely had a thing for Liz, and Sarah Johnson had a thing for Bill Malloy!
Love, Robin

The most alarming ones that come to mind are John Yaeger in 1970PT and the early Willie Loomis, where rape is hinted at in no uncertain terms. That stuff is pretty harsh even by today's daytime standard, and I guess something that jars pretty harshly with the fairytale cosiness of the series elsewhere.
"Night of Dark Shadows" does the same in places too -- I'm in too minds about it. On one level, it brings "Dark Shadows" more in the "real" world, but on another, I think it spoils the quaint enclosure it occupies.

SPOILERS.......
in the 1841PT, there was *supposed* 2 b something going on with Daphne and Quentin, and then poor David Selby got apendicitis :'( :'( :'( :'( Waaaa .... and, as u all know, they married her off to BRAMWELL!!!!

Can't think of the character's name....later, he was Liz's husband...but who was he 1st time around...
anyway...he really leered at Carolyn, Vicki AND Maggie.
If you REALLY think about it....
hmmm....
I think Magda (although totally in love with Sandor), had a "thing" for Quentin AND a thing for Barnabas....

AGREE!!!

Jason McGuire was the character. The actor was Patrick Dennis who came back and played Paul Stoddard (talk about romantic hints, btw--there's a scene between Paul and Liz (who's found a new, ahem, religion) that's filled with all sorts of sexual tension.

Never saw that. Actually, I always read Eliot as gay so that's not surprising, lol.

Didn't Gregory Trask also have a thing for Amanda Harris? I remember him carrying on about "wanting to save her soul" and having her pray with him all the time. ::)

He did have a thing for her and Tim Shaw had her pretend to be a sinner so she had to pray with him
in order for Tim to start his revenge on Trask!

Um, maybe it's the fact that Harry is an ex-con and an all-around scoundrel who can't be trusted?

I adored the Quentin and Daphne pairing in 1840 RT, but I can understand why the writers didn't want to repeat it in 1841PT. They wanted to once again emphasize on the same characters making different choices and winding up with different outcomes in another band of time....although Poor Daphne of 1841PT did wind up with the short end of the stick.
-
There was some flirting between Daphne and Quentin in 1841PT in the beginning, but I believe the endgame was always to have Daphne and Bramwell marry because that's the way things play out with their respective characters in Wuthering Heights, which 1841PT is based on - right down to Daphne's fate.
