Does anybody know if this is available on DVD?
-
Nope. :(

People keep floating rumors that the pilot will get some kind of commercial release. I personally think Hell will freeze over before TPTB at Warners ever sign off on such a thing, but who knows--maybe they'll tap it for a bonus item if they decide to go for a more lavish release for the feature films.

All I know is, there are no plans to do so. The pilot for the proposed series was a "rough draft" at best. While it's slick vis-a-vis special effects, you can see how much polish it needs. It's "not ready for prime time," and thus, it most likely will never be available for sale to the general public.

It's full of unfinished effects and ends on a cliffhanger, kind of. It'd never work as a standalone, but as a bonus on a DVD would be great. In fact, since Time Warner is ivolved, look for it as an extra on the eventual DVD release of Depp's feature project.

An interesting artical, didn't hear this befor.

they tried to blame it all on the director when it all fell apart but having read many things on this its clear there were other factors. like the wb change there mind on doing remakes of old shows they also passed on lost in space plot the same time as ds. some at the wb didn,t even want to do the plot. but because john wells was behind it they did the plot but the ones who were against it from the start won out.

For those who may have missed it the first time around, check out:

All sorts of interesting info about the '04 pilot. And the pages dated May '04 and beyond get into a good deal of what's discussed in that article.
And welcome to the forum, LOOKE300. It's nice to see you posting. :)
