Title: A question, What in DS changed you in some way?

I wanted to become an actor and a writer. I was fascinated with the stories and loved the rich voices of some of the performers, particularly JF. I got the DS album because I knew there were recitations on it.  From that point on, I would purchase albums (and later CDs) related to the vocal arts.

40 years later, and I'm still obsessed with classic, Gothic horror movies, because of DS.

In the 1990s I made two feature films, Red Ribbons,
which I produced, and Next Year in Jerusalem, which I wrote/directed.
Louis Edmonds is in Jerusalem.
My childhood fantasies about being on DS
inspired me to do this.
Both film come to DVD this summer, BTW.

I now review horror movies for Scary Monsters, Videoscope & Penny Blood magazines.
Yup, DS inspires me to do this!

DS was just one of several programs that kept my imagination going and fed my starved personality development in antiseptic Suburbia in the 60s/early 70s.    As for how DS in particular contributed, I'm still in the process of figuring that out, partly through participation in this board.

I dart back and forth between several boards on different subjects-- this is the one board I'm on which actually has a number of accomplished people on it, though.

Well, does an uncontrollable compulsion to spend fog swept nights scouring the docks for prostitutes count?

In surfing, I have discovered a surprising number of boards devoted to people saying they're vampires.     I discovered this while actually surfing, by the way.     I'ver never even seen a computer.

Sorry, not I. I've never even been on Christopher Street. And besides, like our favorite vamp, I stick to New England docks when it comes to scouring on those fog swept nights.  [wink2]

Nancy, I was about to type the same thing almost verbatim!  :)
