Title: Some FridArt...
Post by: Heather on June 16, 2007, 05:42:29 PM
...instead of GraysonArt, this time.  ^-^

Wanted to share a piece I just finished. The assignment was to do a very stylized portrait in Adobe Illustrator (vector art)....I've done Grayson in various incarnations and mediums for a few classes, so I thought, time to try to do Barnabas...

Just for compare/contrasting's sake, here's an example of something I did in the same program that was supposed to look more realistic, not so stylized...

I suppose I'm more of a traditional artist, but the day I finally learned how to use the pen tool (sorry, more geeky Illustrator tech talk) opened up a different world for this nut. ;)
I've got a bunch more stuff I want to share, but it's not DS-related, so I gotta get busy one day with updating/tweaking my website...

hugs,
Heather H.

Wow Amazing work! Illustrator is a god send, it's so much smoother than photoshop. I love the Barnabas portrait, but have to say I am totally blown away by the trumpet!

Greetings Heather, Simon Magus here. On my own fan fiction site I have reserved the "pictures" section as an on line DS art Gallery.

I sure would love to have your art in the gallery. If you have the time, please visit my site, check out the gallery and start your own album there.

Your art is fabulous by the way. I posted here recently seeking more DS artists and then spotted your post. You art would really be a great addition to our gallery. I hope you will take me up on my offer.

 Here's where to go...

[sniffle] shucks... [blushing]
I'm not sure if I'll ever get that far...but sure, if an exhibit is ever concocted, all friends are on the V.I.P. list, absolutely.  8)
I'll even make my infamous evil (but healthy!) brownie bite hors dourves... >:D

Meant to post my gratitude a bit sooner... it's been 'one of those weeks'. Many thanks everyone for the kind comments - I really appreciated them  :-*

Wow, what Gothic grandeur!  I just love it!

I'm just now catching up with this... I hadn't noticed your name and thought it was for one of the Frid fan sites that always crashes my browser whenever I attempt to access it.

Onwards and upwards!  This makes me feel intrigued by how a portrait of Thayer David in his Professor Stokes role would look using this software...
