Title: Jonathan Frid Website on BACK burner . . .
Post by: Nancy on March 06, 2007, 05:22:44 PM
While seated on an office chair with wheels and playing with his cat, Sam, dear Mr. Frid overextended his reach and fell off that chair.  You know what happens when a chair on wheels goes out from under you? OUCH!!  Anyway, it took his mind off the four feet of snow in his backyard.

As JF just announced on his website, there isn't going to be much happening for a bit until his back is better and he's able to sit at the computer, work and not be in pain.

Please extend our best wishes to Mr. Frid for a speedy recovery. I never knew that playing with a cat could be so dangerous, and I have 6 cats of my own.

Oh, poor Jonathan! I hope he can get lots of rest and take it easy until he's well. Here's wishing him a very swift recovery!

So the cat found a way to keep him away from the computer for a few days?  Smart kitty!

Here's hoping he gets well soon! And here's hoping the snow melts soon too! I definitely feel his pain in that area.

Oh dear, it sounds quite painful.  However, from the start of your post, I was anticipating something more serious, so at least that's good news.

Well, some would say that being in your 80s and taking that kind of fall is indeed serious.  It's quite painful and the end result prevents a lot of basic movement and mobility - it will take quite some time to heal properly.  However, that said, JF is making good progress considering his age and the kind of fall he took.

I'm very sorry to hear about his fall.  Glad to hear he is healing, though.  The back can be a very troublesome area, once anything goes wrong; so, if he is already feeling in less pain, that's a very positive sign.

I am sure Sam must have been QUITE startled when it happened--maybe even more startled than JF was himself!

Best wishes,

Steve

To the king of DS, [kingy] my best wishes and hope for a speedy recovery...  [Candle]  however long it takes him.

I never thought I'd say this, but...

Here's a place where Angelique's curse of immortal youth WOULD HAVE come in handy.

Here's to a speedy recovery, and thank goodness that winning personality wasn't damanged!

Oh, my goodness!  I'm so sorry to hear about Mr. Frid's fall! [shkdg] I hope it doesn't set him back too much.  I know how such a thing as a "little fall" can be very troublesome for an octogenarian.  I hope he has a speedy recovery.  Best wishes to him. [cheesyg]

I spoke with JF yesterday afternoon and he said things were better; he's resting a lot which is just about the only thing you can do for this type of injury.
