Eyes were indeed a predominant feature on DS characters like Angeliue, Quentin, Nathan Forbes, Barnabas, etc. Whose windows displayed the most or least about their personality?
-
Angelique--Lara Parker had such expressive eyes. They could bore right into you. Her eyes expressed her evil character perfectly.

I think Barnabas' eyes displayed such a wide variety of emotions, reflecting the various aspects of the character--at times hypnotic and evil, other times full of pain, despair and longing.
-
I'd say Angelique's were the most expressive too !
Lara Parker really used her eyes well to portay
Angelique's many emotions!
But for best eyes have to say Chris jennings

Angelique really had beautiful & expressive eyes which was so different from her character. It looked as if she could look right through you at times. On other times, you could just see the evil in them, especially when she was mad![vryevl]
Barnabas too had expresive eyes. In his eyes you could see it all, the sadness, the hurt, the anger, the longing, and the pain. I always felt he had the most saddest eyes on the show. :'(
Julia also had wonderfully expressive eyes. They always seem to tell when she was trying to keep a secret about someone or something.[sssh] She would then get that real wide-eyed look, as if she was shocked or something.
Dr. Lang eyes always look as if he is about to murder someone, especially when he's talking to Jeff Clark![nuts]

Beth is another person I can think of with expressive eyes. Her blue eyes always looked so sad to me. Even when she was smiling, her eyes always had a sad look to them. :'( This was of course understandable. She had loved Quentin so much and planned on having a future with him, only to find out that he was with someone else. I think deep down though, she knew this would happen.
Nickolas Blair always had that "sly devil" look in his eyes as if he was up to something, which in most cases, he usually was. 8)

He had a twinkle in his eyes especially during his exchanges with Angelique!

Another great question, VAM!
Here goes - a gold medal to each of the following:
Angelique (most evil)
Barnabas (saddest)
Quentin (need I say it? Sexiest!)
Julia (no eyes express astonishment and terror quite like Julia's!)
Honorary mentions go to:
Caroline (wide-eyed ingenue)
Willy (most maniacal!)
Gerard (oh, how they smolder!)

I completely agree with Anne...David Selbyhas beautiful eyes and those baby blues served him well whether he was doing wicked, sexy, angry, or lovelorn.
Funny you should ask this question VAM. Just the other day I was looking at the 2002 DS calendar (which features photos of both Lara Parker and KLS this month) and I was thinking how each had eyes that were very well suited to their characters. Lara could look as bewitching as KLS looked sweet and kind. Of the two Lara's are the most unusually large and striking.

Ooooooooooooo interesting question........ ;D ;D ;D
I think Angelique has the most interesting eyes....they scare me. Really, they do. When she's chanting spells or something, like when she was summoning the fyre in2 Vicki's room in 1795.....wow. OMG she scares me! She always puts so much passion in2 her performances, and you can really c it in her eyes. They have such a heartless tremor of passion in them: she wanted Barnabus no matter what, and she didn't care who she hurt 2 get him.
I'd hafta say [gag me] Barnabus next. His eyes are so sad. His whole face just conveys sadness, but only when it's a close up, such as when he's calling Carolyn or making the dogs bark. His eyebrows just blend in2 his eyes and his hair....it's all so dark, it's almost impossible to delineate between them. Ugh, but it makes me want to grab some tweezers and pluck his eyebrows, tho! LMAO
Lastly, I liked Naomi's eyes. They were SOOOOOO sad. They shimmered just like the sherry she constantly drank, always full of tears that could never be shed. Even if her face seemed to be stoic, her eyes always said something about what she was feeling. Same 4 Joshua, but you could really see his emotions in his body movement more than his eyes; his whole body would become stiff, and you could really see how old he was....some old fragile man, his real age, not the powerful, strong man you always think of first when you hear his name.
Sheesh, Amandaramble.....

Sounds like you'll require some industrial size tweezers for watching 1897's Garth Blackwood. Think unibrow, hee hee.
