SciFi is preempting DS on Monday, May 6 for a Chronicle marathon.

I have no clue why. [hdscrt]

It seems that TPTB at Sci-Fi [silly] don't need much reason to pre-empt DS.

Don't seem to mix !!!!!!  Why canceld on Monday??? It's not a holiday.  Why can't they cancel a program on the weekend to show the Chronicle marathon????

Maybe if some of us from the forum here writes to someone at Sci-Fi to protest them taking off DS.  Not that it would do any good.

Maybe it is because of  the Cinco de Mayo Holliday. Why, just today I was strangly compelled to make chille. ;)
Any excuse to pre-empt Dark Shadows :(

I'm pretty sure the official reason for running marathons on holidays is to spare us fans from missing an episode of whatever it is we're used to watching.

They assume that we're all out celebrating like mad at 10am on days like President's Day and Memorial Day. Celebrating HOW, I shudder to think!

They also seem to assume that the technological revolution hasn't reached us yet and we don't have VCRs to handle the problem.

Whatever the "official" babble is, the REAL reason has to do with money.  I'm not sure HOW it has to do with money, but everything about television has to do with money in the end!  :P

I will just put on the MPI tape. My Mom is going to be here and she wants to watch Dark Shadows too. The seventh of May is my birthday, I'm sure that's when Craig Slocum comes on as Harry Johnson. What a trip! I will be looking forward to that.

I too do not like it when DS is not aired. But I try to be happy that they air it at all. And especially happy that we get two episodes a day. As one would just not be enough! Not to mention that this is not the first time they have aired this series.

Monday is Nurses' Day. Kind of hard to imagine that is the reason to not air DS though. But who knows! As long as DS comes back on Tuesday.

Great idea Cheryl!! Thank God for those MPI tapes! It's enough that we have to deal with cancellations on the holidays, but when they cancel without reason, it just gets to you. I just hope it doesn't become a habit!! Have a wonderful birthday Cheryl!

As for DS preempting DS on Monday, God knows why they do what they do.  They have their own evil agenda.

Yay! Each month I'm always worried that Sci Fi is going to pull off Dark Shadows. This'll mean we'll get to #543 I believe.

Does anyone know, or have a way of figuring out what kind of ratings DS pulls in?  There are so many other shows that have come and gone on Sci-Fi's weekday lineup, but DS seems to be pretty constant.

I too shudder at the thought of coming home, popping in my tape and seeing some sci-fi show like "VR5" or "Deadly Games" on (especially since sci-fi owns the exclusve rights to the show).

Now Nurse's Day is very important! kinda like yourbirthday or Christmas Well i keep telling my husband this!

Wellllll, Raineypark - out of respect I stay pretty low key myself on Memorial Day but I do pull out all the stops for Prez Day  ...I pop in my Jimmy Carter teeth, Ronnie Reagan wig, and go around giving everyone the Ticky Dicky double peace sign as I grant pardons to criminals and exclaim "I am NOT a crook".  It's also the day you are allowed to lie about anything, make promises you never intend to keep, do prat falls, imagine your an ex-general, pretend to pick your dog up by his ears and practice your best Texan or Boston accents.
