I would have loved to see Julia and Barnabas play the couple. I can really imagine them haveing a fight as a couple. That would have been great. There was just great chemistry.

I believe they had 'buddy' chemistry, but not 'romantic' chemistry. Now Jon and Lara? Yeah! THEY had chemistry! Just my 2 pesos...;)
But isn't that how the writers wrote it. It could have been writen different!
We were graced with a truly wonderful snapshot of Julia and Barnabas together that beautifully expresses their relationship with one another (from today's 1969 episode) *and* an almost as fabulous portrait of Julia and Quentin from the Leviathan period!
1970: Ep #935 - Quentin asks Julia to leave him alone for the time being to grieve for Amanda (as all DS fans are surely doing).[puke]
Totally love Grayson Hall. I finally saw "Night of the Iguana". I wasn't surprised that she had been nominated for an oscar.
I love what she did with her Hoffman character in DS. Nobody could have played it better'n GH. I also believe that GH paved the way for woman doctors of the time. She was confident and ballzee. Go Julia!

Now, now - you know you were heartbroken when Amanda met her fate. You probably cried and cried for days and days...
[rofl10] I haven't watched those episodes in so long I can't remember Amanda being "that" bad. Others share your feelings though!! One fan may just speak up sometime soon so I will not speak for her. Most of the male fans I've heard from don't dislike her as much as the females. I wonder why? [idontknow]

Could you mean me or are there others who can't stand Amanda Harris and her continual insipid whining?

You really have to wonder why? They're males. The answer should be pretty obvious. [b003]
Speaking from one female to another, I never had a problem with Amanda as a character myself....I just didn't think she and Quentin had any chemistry, romantic or otherwise, period. I liked her much better as Tim Shaw's money-happy, jewel-lovin', stringing-Trask-along honey. [winkg]
By the time Amanda left the show though I must confess I wasn't sorry to see her go. That whole Mr. Best nonsense bored me silly.
I'm more vocal about the characters that I love and hate than many people, I can get pretty worked up about either one. I don't hate Amanda, not like Trask or the truly wicked characters but I just feel she's a total waste. And to have Quentin fall for her after Beth is an abomination.
Now, now - you know you were heartbroken when Amanda met her fate. You probably cried and cried for days and days...Poor, poor Donna McKechnie. She thought that loud round of applause when they showed Olivia's demise at Fest came from fans showing their appreciation for her work. Little does she know that there are many of us who scream and clap just as much when we watch that scene at home. >:D

I love Grayson's "entrance" in episode 675 (on today's slideshow). The shots I'm thinking of aren't among the captures in the slides, but as I recall the episode, we see Julia's hand holding a cigarette, a shot of her coat, and then a close-up of the Doctor herself looking even more world-weary and "over it all" than usual. FABULOUS.
I love the scene, can't remember the ep, where she LIGHTS one of her ciggies using the candleabra in the drawing room of the Old House! CLASSIC! ;D

Oh, so do I! Right under Barnabas' nose too. Heh heh...

Yes, but do tears of LAUGHTER count?! >:D

Grayson Hall is my religion--I admit it!
