I read today on NBC's press website (for journalists covering TV) that NBC is launching CHILLER, a network totally devoted to the horror genre. They will air classic horror movies, as well as some TV shows (such as Tales from the Crypt). As of now, Dark Shadows is not on the roster, but they're just starting out. It's such a perfect fit! The other thing is, right now, only DirecTV will carry the network. I suspect that will change, though, in time.
Why not email NBC and request Dark Shadows for CHILLER? If you go to www.nbc.com, I'm sure there's an email link up there.

Thanks, adamsgirl. There's more about it here (in the Petition to Urge SoapNet to Air DS topic on Current Talk):
On a somewhat related note, NBC Universal Cable (who owns SCI FI) announced yesterday that they plan to launch a new horror and thriller cable network called Chiller. It debuts on March 1. DirecTV has already signed on to carry it. Daily programming will include...

I was flipping through the channels just now(Directv)and found this channel on 257. I was gonna post about this new channel and the possibilities of it, but figured i better do a search, cause this is a sharp bunch on here, and sure enough i had been scooped! Right now watching Burgess Meredith on Night Gallery getting a Medical bag from the future...Day the earth stood still coming up....Cool

Grayson Hall was on an episode of Night Gallery that played on Chiller this morning. They seem to have a wide variety of programming. My favorite is Alfred Hitchcock Presents.
Here's hoping they are considering picking up Dark Shadows. If it is available anyway.

Hi, Janet: I emailed Jim Pierson on Friday about it. He assured me that the syndicater of DS is pursuing all possible avenues to get it back on the air. This is more encouraging than what he told me last time I checked with him on the Chiller channel.
Hey, I saw that episode with Grayson -- that was a nice surprise! I do like the Chiller network, too. It would be a fabulous fit for DS and only enhance what they're running now.

NBC also runs Slueth TV, a mystery themed channel.
Direct TV got Slueth first, but Dish Network picked it up
within a month of it's launch,
I suspect Chiller will get picked up by Dish & elsewhere
fairly quickly.
It would be GREAT if Chiller aired DS, AND Strange Paradise, the Canadian, horror themed soap about zombies & voodoo.
Strange still airs in Canada.
