Peter Boyle, who sparred beautifully with Dennis Patrick in the 1970 film Joe (which should have made Patrick an A list star) has died at 71.
Boyle played the Monster in Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein (1974)
and co-starred in the TV series Everybody Loves Raymond.
RIP

Holy crap, I just saw him on TVLand's 100 Top Catchphrases last night! BTW, Peter's catchphrase, at the beginning of this reply, that he often uttered on Everybody Loves Raymond as Frank Barone was #79 on the list! He was also seen in a revival commercial for Alka Seltzer w/co-star Doris Roberts that also made the list, it was #62. That catchphrase was "I can't believe I ate the whole thing!"

Very sad. He was a great comedic performer.

I just read about the death of Peter Boyle here on the Internet news.....very sad. I loved him on Everybody Loves Raymond, he was absolutely hilarious. He was also great in Young Frankenstein and While You were Sleeping, the ladder in which he played a husband and father so totally opposite of Frank Barone.
He will be missed. [santa_cry]
