Title: Santa's bagful of Shadows goodies
Post by: TNickey2003 on December 13, 2006, 02:39:31 AM
A great many interesting objects -featured as part of the opulent enviroment of the Collins' estate,  featured because of their off-the-beaten-track or supernatural significance, made their appearances on Dark Shadows. Undoubtedly more things than I could remember when I created this poll.   Have fun!

Forget Barnabas's cane, Barnabas's ring, or Barnabas's portrait. All I want for Christmas is Barnabas himself! [santa_embarassed]  [santa_grin] [santa_cool]

I would love to have Barnabas' silver cane (not for beating anyone with it though), I just think it's so cool. I would also love to own Josette's music box with both melodies in it.

Would Nathan Forbes' naval uniform come fully loaded?

Would Nathan Forbes' naval uniform come fully loaded?

Or one of Megan Todd's form-fitting turtlenecks?

The clock--- the B&J wedding present?    I said that, because I need a place to hide my journal.      I almost said the cane or the Petofi box.

With the button missing?

I chose Quentin's gramophone, but truth be told... I'd rather have Quentin himself!

Ah, yes - who could possibly forget the missing button whose infamous flapping thread becomes the unacknowledged center of attention in Ep #12:

One thing that I couldn't help but find amusing about ep #12 actually has nothing to do the plot. It's that Vicki's trenchcoat is quite obviously missing its top button on the right side - and more than that, there's a thread that's at least four inches long that's constantly flying around in its place whenever Vicki moves. (One can't help but see it in the first capture in the slideshow:

Though at least, and to be fair, the button was sewn back on in the next episode that we see her wearing the trenchcoat.  [santa_wink]

I chose two things, the liquor cabinet in the Drawing Room, but I want the one from PT, not RT!  I loved how it would fold into itself!  I'd get rid of a chair in my living room to fit that baby in my house!  ;)

I also would love to have Barnabas's Inverness coat, but not his usual one, the light gray one he wore at the end of 1897, and NOT the one that Frid himself wore 'cause it would stink of cigerettes.  I'd love to have a repllica made.  ;)

Interesting poll, but one a glaring omission, you didn't list THE PEN as an item of want!   [santa_wink]

I'm so glad you brought that up, Buzz. I've been too flabbergasted and heartbroken to do so myself.  [a345]  [bawl]

I'd go for that little red (I assume Italian Leather) notebook Julia carried everywhere in the early episodes.  Then I'd steal MB's beloved PEN to write with.....[vryevl]

I voted for Barnabas' 1795 portrait, Quentin's coat and gramaphone, Josette's music box, and probably something else I forgot to mention.

One thing that was mentioned that I'd like to have: Collinwood. Minus the curses and evil and stuff, unless the characters were there to help!

As I recall Barnabas was very interested in that too.

I forgot about the bar with the liquor thrown in.  I'll have that, please.

What an interesting post!!

Any of Edward's clothes (robe especially) from 1897.

What was it that Laura had in '87 & '69?

Speaking of Laura Collins: Another fascinating object that could be added to Santa's bagful:  The urn containing Laura's life essence.
