Indeed I do Brandon. They both had a share of MY favorite Collins guy Barnabas!

Surprised no one has mentioned Quentin yet. He's got to be the ULTIMATE lover in all of Collinsport....

Does unrequited count?

Well, if it does, Willie Loomis gets the Gold Medal.....mooning around after Maggie Evans like a lost puppy... ::)

Boy is that ever the truth! I always felt a little sorry for him, even though I felt Maggie and Joe belonged together. I always wondered did he ever marry that girl Roxanne of his? (Not Barnabas' Roxanne, a different one). I like to think he did but the show was cancelled before we could find out. Willie deserved some happiness.

I don't know that there was much else on DS!!

I have to disagree w/this.  If anyone deserves that Gold Medal for unrequited love it's Julia!  Willie would get the Silver though.  ;)

As Homer Simpson would say, D'oh!!! How could I have forgotten Julia? She definitely holds the record for the longest unrequited love for someone (who only sees her as a meddlesome woman/threat/friend.)

The vampire Barnabas only saw her as a woman who meddled too much in his affairs even though she was trying to cure him and then a threat when he learned she was trying to upset his plans, while the human Barnabas considered her a dear, valuable friend but no more than that.

My vote goes to Julia & Barnabas for unrequited love-and to Bramwell & Katherine for true lovers

Carolyn and.....maybe Buzz? ::)

How do we know they didn't do the nasty? ;) ;D

Can't you just picture Buzz and Carolyn riding down the beach on his motorcycle, and parking it there for the night and pretty soon one thing leads to another..... ;)

LOL yeah I think I do. ;)

I remember Nancy saying on the interviews on one of my old tapes that the role of Carolyn appealed to her much more than that of Vicki and it's not difficult to see why because Carolyn had a wild side to her....she wasn't afraid to go all the way. ;)

I guess you could be right, but somehow I don't think Buzz would be content with just smootching Carolyn all the time....and since Carolyn was so hell-bent on hurting her mother at the time, I think she was prepared to go "all the way" if she had to.

She might have acted out the entire Kama Sutra....but she didn't do it on a motorcycle on the beach.  You need 4-wheel drive to do it on the beach...... believe me...... ;)

I have to disagree w/this.  If anyone deserves that Gold Medal for unrequited love it's Julia!  Willie would get the Silver though.  ;)

I say Willie gets gold Julia gets silver. Julia at least had a friendship with Barnabas, a very deep friendship. She meant a lot to Barnabas though he didn't see her as a lover. But Maggie didn't think much of Willie even as a friend. He had to beg her for even that much.
Even after Joe was out of the picture Willie and Maggie never got together. I blame Willie for this though, why didn't he make a move? Especially when everyone at Collinwood had to move to the Old House, including Maggie and she was living under the same roof he was? Why didn't they get together? Or did he try and have her reject him?

He disappears for a while and we don't see him again til he returns late in the Leviathan storyline now engaged. Nothing ever comes of this though, I assume Roxanne just left town since one day he says, "Roxanne's gonna think I'm weird or somethin'," and that's the last we ever hear of her.

Later in the summer of '70 storyline Maggie dates Sebastian once before a different Roxanne sinks her fangs into Maggie out of jealousy. Willie finds her and saves her life yet again, but still Maggie leaves for Wyndcliff with Sebastian, not with Willie.
Willie continued to carry his torch through the whole series but wasn't given anything other than a distant friendship while Julia at least meant a lot to Barnabas, he depended on her, leaned on her, and they came to mean very much to each other. I know she broke her heart over him, but I say Willie suffered more. Gold medal to Willie, silver to Julia.

Barn and Julia really had their hard moments. Don't you remember before 1795  The Angelique trying to Kill Barn and Julia how many times. Both of the got attacked by Vampires.

Willie at least left and came back to help Barn and Julia. We really don't know what he did. Pre Barnabas we really don't know his wild days.

Elizabeth never found a man she could love. Just think she locked herself in her house for years.

How about Adam pining after Carolyn and getting so jealous he
attacked Tony Peterson after he saw Tony and Carolyn kiss?
That was another unrequited love, although I always thought Carolyn had a thing for Adam. It was those god-awful scars that put her off.

As far as that goes, Carolyn running after Burke made me want to cringe. The girl had no dignity whatsoever!

Now, as to Carolyn's "wild" ways, I always felt it was inferred she slept around -- definitely with Buzz and at least once with Burke. Of course, it being the '60s, TV soaps were pretty tame in that regard and only hinted, unlike today where love scenes are like soft porn!

My evidence of Carolyn and Burke:
Joe found her in Burke's hotel room. She was cuddled up on the couch barefoot.
To me, that was sort of a euphemism for what had gone on between them earlier.
