Forever I have been trying to find a forum to talk about Dark Shadows and at last I have found it! :)
As you can tell from my user-name my favorite character is Barnabas, but I do love the other characters as well.... :)
I can never get enough Dark Shadows....I nearly all the DVD collections...I am in seventh heaven...
Great to see there are many other fans out there.... :)

Welcome to the board IluvBarnabas! I've been posting on this and other incarnations of this board for many a long year now and I it has been a joy. The people are funny, friendly, caring and extremely creative types. The mods are top notch and, of course, the topic of conversation couldn't be better! Hope you stick around - the more the merrier!

IluvBarnabas,
It's wonderful to see you posting! Your Newbie status will be behind you in no time.
If you've looked over your posts on the boards (accessible on your profile's main page), you'll have noticed that spoiler boxes, and in at least one case a spoiler icon, have been added to your posts so as to not "spoil" the mystery of plot points for visitors who haven't yet seen the particular episodes. MB explains how to create the spoiler boxes in this post on the Testing 1, 2, 3, board:
Re: Update on Spoilers
... For now people need to type the two spoiler tags in their posts on their own:
spoiler text and/or image(s)
...
The spoiler icon has been added since then and can be found in the dropdown menu under Message icon.
Please feel free to practice using the spoiler codes in that topic, and the Testing 1, 2, 3 board is available to practice other codes as well. The Help section is your best resource for learning other Bulletin Board Codes. Thanks! :D
-
Thanks Midnite!
Yeah I have noticed about the spoilers box....good idea....anyone watching the show for the first time won't have to worry about reading what happens in the story before it happens.
-
The spoiler icon has been added since then and can be found in the dropdown menu under Message icon.
Question though, I found the spoiler alert tag, but how do you *apply* it to what you want to hide? I ususally just do the spoilers the old-fashioned way by typing you know what on either end of what I want to hide, but if there's a easier way! ;)
-
Unfortunately, there isn't an easier way to do spoilers right now. Back when we were using YaBBSE, I'd added a button to the posting page to automatically add spoiler tags to posts/PMs. But I haven't been able to find the time to make new buttons and to add the code for them to the new scripts since we've switched from YaBBSE to using SMF. And since we'll soon be switching from SMF 1.0 to 1.1, I'm not going to bother at this point to add any new buttons/code until after the switch. So, for the time being we simply have to add the spoiler tags on our own. ;)

Welcome, IluvBarnabas! I've been enjoying reading your posts.

It seems you've misunderstood; the moderators would like for you to be the one to use spoiler code. Your posts may be spoiling plot points before a mod can edit them, but the bottom line is that it's your responsibility.
-
Oh I am sorry! Thanks for telling me.

Okay, last time I'm asking. Get thee to the Testing board and please learn how to add spoiler code. I've otherwise enjoyed your comments immensely and wouldn't want to see your posting privileges restricted to the Testing board.
