Title: Jonathan Frid Website Restored!
Post by: Nancy on September 15, 2006, 08:47:37 PM
They are switching formats for the video to the streaming format.  The website has been swamped with people wanting to download the video.  You can visit the site to read a message from the webmaster and JF.  http://www.jonathanfrid.com

There's someone to be like when you're old.    Despite my eye thing, I got well into an essay of Frid's where he talks about the true accent of Elizabethan times, something I'd heard something vaguely about when Kenneth Branaugh (sp?) made a remark that current American speech (accent) was more like that of Shakespeare's than the modern English accent.

That great voice of his still sends shivers down my spine! Whether he is playing Barnabas or Richard III, his voice is truly mesmerising. In some ways, even though he is a good actor, I  like the audio by itself better than with a visual--it's fun to "see" the images the mind can create while listening to the timbre of his voice!

As of Saturday, Spetember 9th at 11:20 am Central time:

When I try to access Jonathan Frid's website I get a message that says:  Account Disabled

I thought that the site had been restored...

Anyone else having this problem?

Please let us know!

It was up last night for some time but the video was removed.  The webmaster left a short note that they were working to fix the problem.  I don't know why it's down again but I assume they are still working on "the" problem.

The site hasn't been back down to my knowledge. I just checked again now and it's up.  If you have the site bookmarked you might need to clean your cache first and try the site again.

Something is going on.  When I read JosetteMusicBox's post, I checked JF's site and it was down.  Now, when I read Nancy's post, his site is back up.  [playing DS music before the final climatic cliffhanger!]

Ah, okay.  Mark, the webmaster, actually builds computers more so than anything else.  This other stuff he has been asked to do is trial and error in some respects and though many people have offered to assist JF with the things Mark doesn't know as well, JF prefers to have someone right there with him working on the site or within easy distance for back and forth discussion and meeting.

So I guess we all need to be patient while Mark is figuring out the best way to get the streaming business up and running.  He was able to get that idea thanks for the suggestions of several fans.
