Hmm, Florence Stanley has been officially listed as providing the sobbing for these early eps.  I'm not sure Clarice Blackburn has come on board yet.

Kudos to Vicki for telling Roger, "You have no right to talk to me like that."

It's a lonely planet for DS non-con-goers this weekend...

Awww, Magnus.

At last, I get a day with no fever, yay!  If this continues, maybe I can make some progress at getting caught up with the WP...

I'm obsessed with that phone booth in the Inn, which since the previous [Friday] ep has moved back into the lobby from the restaurant.

Liz repeats, "Because I choose to do so," a line that always makes me think of Dom, our sometime moderator.  I miss you, Dom.

Vickie ... goes to the diner where  Sam warns her to fear death.  Maybe she should have just stayed home.

LOL  Vicki and Sam seem to have only bizarre encounters (on Widow's Hill, he scared her with talk of Josette's suicide and hauntings at Collinwood, and during their previous meeting at the diner, while acting nosey and a tad bit paranoid, he spoke of numerous suicides at the big house).  And yet all Vicki knows about him is that his name is Sam and he has a secret relationship with Roger.  So I'm surprised she seemed so calm during this ep after learning they were all alone in the restaurant, because by now she must view Sam as the town's wandering nutjob.

Two sites to search for stage roles are the Internet Broadway Database (www.IBDB.com) and Lortel Internet Off-Broadway Database (www.IOBDB.com), but I can't recall ever seeing a musical role in any of Frank Schofield's credits.

Thanks, MB.  Haven't been watching the show this season but will see it for MTW.  [ghost_smiley]

Chastain is also 1 of 4 featured covers of the current issue of LA Times Magazine.  The series is "Dreamgirls-- Four Stars on the Rise."

The article (p. 47):  Scene Stealers

The 4 covers:  LA Magazine September 2011

(Jessica is the oldest of the 4.)

Thanks for attempting a DS tie-in, but the truth is that the discussion isn't about DS or its fans anymore and is therefore far off topic.

Cavada Humphrey passed away.

Would love to see Eis return to a Fest.

Hello, Dark Shadows Fan,

ShadowGram (SG), The Official Newsletter & News Source for Dark Shadows (DS), announces the following breaking news in this Online News Update "bulletin."

---- DS' ORIGINAL "COLLINWOOD" ON SCYFY SERIES
---- LOUIS EDMONDS IN SPECIAL "ALL MY CHILDREN" EPISODE

**** SCYFY CHANNEL: DS & SEAVIEW MANSION ON "GHOST HUNTERS" SHOW

ScyFy Channel's popular reality series "Ghost Hunters" will feature the historic house Seaview Terrace (Mansion) / Carey Mansion in its Sept. 7 episode, appropriately titled "Dark Shadows."

The rear view of the building on Ruggles Avenus in Newport, RI, was used as the iconic image of "Collinwood" on DS 1966-71. The "Ghost Hunters" team visits the property and explores reports of possible paranormal activity.

A representative from NBCUniversal tells SG: "On the Wed., Sept. 7 epsiode of Syfy's Ghost Hunters - the most popular paranormal franchise on television - fans of the cult-classic TV show Dark Shadows can join lead investigators Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson along with the The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) team as they conduct the first-ever paranormal investigation of Seaview Terrace, the location where the long-running gothic soap opera, Dark Shadows was filmed."

He also provides the following information about the episode and the series.

Press Release Episode Description. "Premieres Wednesday, September 7 @ 9/8c.

"Forty thousand square feet. Gothic architecture. Former girls' boarding school. Once the house where the cult-classic TV show Dark Shadows was filmed.

"The owner of the Seaview Terrace in Newport, Rhode Island calls on the TAPS team to investigate the scary happenings in her home for the first-ever paranormal investigation of the mansion where the gothic soap opera was filmed. First there was a male voice in the hall saying, `Hello, is that you?' Then there was a drastic temperature change in the 3rd floor tower. The final straw was when she reached for a door handle only to see it slowly turn on its own. Jason, Grant and the team are about to get to the bottom of all the bangs, footsteps and knocks and encounter the loudest evidence they've ever heard."

Series Information: "Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson -- plumbers by day, Ghost Hunters by night. Jason and Grant head up TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society), a close-knit organization of volunteer paranormal researchers -- ordinary people who investigate and attempt to debunk claims of otherworldly activity."

More information about the episode will be in the next SG #122 print issue.

**** LOUIS EDMONDS TO BE SEEN IN "ALL MY CHILDREN" MARATHON

Louis (Roger, Joshua, Edward, Daniel, Amadeus, Brutus) played the "endearing" con man "Langley Wallingford" on ABC's daytime soap "All My Children" 1979-86, with brief returns in 1990 and 1995. The series began in 1970 and its final episode airs Sept. 23.

SoapNet plans an AMC Marathon on Sat., Sept. 17 called "I Love Lucci" (citing star actress Susan Lucci ). A very early episode with Langley is scheduled; there may be other episodes with the character. Publicity: 9-17 – 7PM - 'All My Children' Episode #1979-02567 (Original Air Date 11/27/79).... Also: Langley tries to convince Myrtle they've never met before."

Louis as Langley became a viewer favorite over time as he gradually charmed the popular leading lady "Phoebe Tyler" (Ruth Warrick). They eventually married in a storyline that celebrated love between 2 "older" characters.

Thank you.

Barbara attended the '95 Fest in NY and was given her own segment, also the DGA Curtis tribute in '01, the Halloween party at the Vista in '07, and a couple of Burbank autograph shows including the one this year.  Of course, she has another direct connection to DS by having done "Night Whispers."  Received it recently as a gift and am looking forward to listening.

There were 2 different flyers that would mysteriously appear on the table at the entrance to the Fest events.

COMING SOON
1991 Dark Shadows Cast Reunion

Or email:  friendsof91DS@comcast.net

The other asked you to fill out a form with personal info including email and snail mail it to the MD address.  It also asks you to check if you'd be interested in either a full cast reunion no matter where it's held, a partial cast reunion held on the East Coast (NY/NJ), or a partial cast reunion on the West Coast (CA).  Then it asks for suggestions.

I'm not thrilled to see another attempt at fracturing the DS Fests, especially with the two series so intertwined.  But I also understand the frustration now that the '91 series gets almost totally ignored every summer.

The 2nd skit was hilarious and I hope it gets uploaded!  "DS Bloopers and Nightmares," takes place during the strike, and Guy Haines as Dan Curtis (as intense as his green golf getup) forces a stressed-out Sam Hall (Walter Down) to assume all the technical responsibilities of getting the show made.  Bobubas was an excellent late replacement as Barnabas, and again Karlenfan made a very good Julia.

Also featured:  JosettebyCandlelight, Evan Hanley, adamsgirl, ProfStokes, Uncle Roger and JVjr; and from the 1st skit: Tom Massey and Helen Samaras.

David, when I start feeling like myself again, I can get back to clearing the way for registrations to reopen, which seems to be the best solution.
