BOUT BRAVADO
« on: August 25, 2002, 07:17:51 PM »
That smack Nicholas bestowed on Angelique made me recall some wild fight scenes on DS. From the ones I listed, which one was the best? Rate them on a scale of ten and have fun!

BURKE DEVLIN VS WILLIE LOOMIS AT THE BLUE WHALE

TOM JENNINGS VS BARNABAS COLLINS AT THE CRYPT

JOE HASKELL VS WILLIE LOOMIS AT EVANS' COTTAGE

BRAMWELL VS MORGAN COLLINS AT THE BIG HOUSE

BARNABAS COLLINS VS LAMAR TRASK AT THE BIG HOUSE

ADAM VS JEFF CLARK OUTSIDE THE BIG HOUSE
It is a good day because I am still ticking!

there is a fight scene from the blooper tape, and i dont know the characters, but one guy grabs for a bottle on the bar to hit the other guy over the head with, and the "bottle" disintegrates in his hand. another one is the quentin and delaware tate fight where quentin subdues delaware with a bottle over the head... and a few minutes later they come back to the scene where the "unconscious" tate is strategically placing bits of broken "glass" on his arm and shoulder for a better effect when he comes to.  outrageous
its a sudden death that i know, my father wrote me to say that, my cousin, uncle jeremiah was, was very disturbed.

On this list:
Burke Devlin vs. Willie Loomis at the Blue Whale, but my #1 choice is the fight with Adam and Harry, after Harry pulled a switchblade on him.  8)

BARNABAS COLLINS VS LAMAR TRASK AT THE BIG HOUSE Re: BOUT BRAVADO
« Reply #6 on: August 26, 2002, 04:45:31 AM »
From this list, my rankings are:

1) BRAMWELL VS MORGAN COLLINS AT THE BIG HOUSE
2) TOM JENNINGS VS BARNABAS COLLINS AT THE CRYPT
3) BURKE DEVLIN VS WILLIE LOOMIS AT THE BLUE WHALE
4) BARNABAS COLLINS VS LAMAR TRASK AT THE BIG HOUSE
5)  ADAM VS JEFF CLARK OUTSIDE THE BIG HOUSE
6) JOE HASKELL VS WILLIE LOOMIS AT EVANS' COTTAGE

Other fights that I found memorable included the one between Joe and another Blue Whale patron in the first episode, Kendrick and Gabriel's struggle in 1841 Collinwood, and the brawl between John Yaeger and an Eagle customer that tripwire mentioned.

My all-time favorites would be: (potential spoilers)

1.  Joe v.s. the werewolf at the Evans cottage
for best executed fight [thumb]

2.  Barn v.s. Tom at the crypt
best gothic ambiance [eek]

3.  Adam v.s. Tony Peterson
most "to the point"  ;)

4.  Quentin v.s. Tate
most ridiculous  :P

5.  Jeb v.s. Werewolf
most claustrophobic  [shckd]

6.  William H. Loomis v.s. Angelique
most neurotic [nerv]

7.  Barnabas v.s. Sky Rumson
most refreshing exit of a wooden actor  ;D

8.  Garth Blackwood v.s. everybody
most obsessivecompulsive [goofy]

9. Barnabas v.s. Burke Devlin @ Blue Whale
most acidically metaphorical [pain]

10. Barnabas v.s. Angelique
most interesting 8)

11.  Tate v.s. Tate's Creation
most desperate, anticlimactic, hair-pulling chickens**t rip-off stunt ever, as DC & the writers kill off a potentially interesting catalyst character, probably to save from paying for a speaking part! [madg]

12.  Quentin v.s. Jenny
most homicidal  >:(

13. Harry v.s. Nicholas
most cheesy  :D

What about the fight between Jeb and Quentin during the Leviathan time period?  Remember?  Jeb has Carolyn at the antique shop - unconscious.  Jeb tries to smash a chair over Quentin's head, and Quentin ducks out of the way and it smashes on the stairs' railing.  Then Jeb comes at him with a knife.  Quentin finally ends it by hitting Jeb over the head with a bottle.  LOL
Just like he did with Tate in 1897.

Old habits die hard.
They sure liked those fake bottles on DS, didn't they?

I liked the one between Burke and Willie at the Blue Whale as John Karlen's old Willie was a really dislikable character (what with harassing Collinsport's young ladies and pulling a knife on someone in a well respected dining establishment) it sorta felt good to watch him get popped upside the head :)

My only problem with it is that Ryan jumped the gun and said "cool it bob" BEFORE Bob had reached for the bottle (or whatever he was reaching for to subdue Willie).  Otherwise pretty cool.
Three hundred and twenty years have passed since the coven sank in the dark...

Spoilers -----

Oooo...I just thought of another one.
There was that fight between Barnabas and John Yaeger in 1970 Parallel.  I think ole Barn killed him, didn't he???  (It was an unfortunate accident, I'm sure).

MOST unfortunate accident was when Quentin killed Jenny during that struggle.  Whoops.
Just because of that little mishap he gets cursed forever as a werewolf.   (Sheesh)

Ain't life a torment??

How about that so called fist fight between Peter Bradford & Lt. Forbes in 1795.  Peter went to Forbes' room to get him to change his testimony for Vicky, whom The Lieutenant just testified against. When Nathan refused, all hell broke loose. [argue]

Also liked the bar room brawl between Willie & Burke Devlin. ;)
