Maggie's Wedding Dress
« on: September 06, 2002, 09:05:57 AM »
Was Maggie wearing a pair of sky blue pumps today with her wedding dress? They never seem to pay too much attention to shoes on this show, do they?

I can't remember if it was Nolan Miller who said this or not, but I think it was.

Anyhow, the designer was working on a tv show with Barbara Stanwyck very late in her career (The Colbys?) and she reportedly told him something like, "if they notice the shoes, something is very wrong."

I thought Maggie's dress looked more like a first communion dress than a brides.

Speaking of wedding attire....at the start of the series, back in 1795, didn't Maggie's veil look like a curtain panel?  I swear my mom had white curtain panels that looked like that.

Maybe the shoes were supposed to be her "something blue"?

True...

But what kind of dress does a woman wear in a ceremony that binds her soul to a warlock for eternal life in Hell?

She should have borrowed Eve's dress--black would have been more appropriate but I guess Nicholas didn't want to frighten his bride to be with dreams of hellfire and damnation.

I managed to avoid that sale.  Though I must say my Dad was the king of bargains.  He brought me to some strange place in Marboro to find my wedding dress.  Actually, it was very pretty.  I paid a very reasonable price for it.  All this brings back memories.  Thursday we celebrated our 22nd anniversary.  Looking back at the pictures I can't believe how young I was.  My husband had black hair than and a mustache.  I was a few pounds lighter.   Sorry, this is so far off topic.  I guess I am rambling.

Ditto from me, Birdie [thumb]
It's nice to know people that stay together longer than two seconds. We're heading toward 28 years in April, 2003.
