What is Split Second you may ask. Well, it's a game show that's currently on BUZZR. Frankly, I'd never heard of it until I saw a promo for it back in March while watching something else on BUZZR. But after doing a bit of research I discovered that apparently the show was originally on ABC daytime from March 20, 1972 until June 27, 1975. During most of that time I was in college but had a lot of my day free on some days, so I have no idea how I missed ever seeing it - or if I did, I guess I wasn't very impressed and rarely watched. The next iteration, and the one I'm going to deal with in this topic, had a brief run in syndication from December 15, 1986 until September 11, 1987 - if it was available in my area, I never saw that version either. And interestingly enough, a new iteration, which began on April 17, 2023, is currently still running on the Game Show Network. And I've never watched it, too.

But anyway, the reason I put "on" in quotes in the title for this topic is because Kate Jackson wasn't physically on the show, her name was the answer to a question - and her name coming up is what caught my sttention during the promo on BUZZR:


So ever since seeing that promo, I began DVRing the show, and finally this past Wednesday the ep in question was shown. Here's how Kate's name came up:


And as you can see, thanks to knowing Kate starred in Scarecrow and Mrs. King, the contestant won the game.

Another quote in the rare league of triple "MUST" quotes. But while the Robservations references the second part of the quote perfectly, it abbreviates the first part, and what's unforgivable from this slideshow's perspective is that abbreviating the first part means the quote is not acknowledged in the Robservations as a triple "MUST" quote.  [ghost_angry]  But nonetheless it's another [milestone] for the slideshow as that quote from Ep #1213 becomes its seventh triple "MUST" quote, following in the footsteps of the ones from Eps #517, #530, #678, #731, #976 and #1102.

And this is the second quote from this ep. The first (Bramwell - 'I guess I made the mistake in thinking you as the young girl I knew when I went away. Well, a great deal MUST have happened to you, you MUST tell me about yourself-- I, I don't think I even know you') was back on October 15th of 2021.

It's interesting that for Scene 175 there's a reference to a jeep (presumably actually Gerard's truck) no longer being there when DC actually had to add to his script that Gerard was watching Claire and Alex in Scene 173. Apparently Gerard watching must have been a part of the script but was accidentally left out somewhere along the way.

Revisiting a theory:

And if that is the case, it could make one wonder if there wasn't more to Gabriel having Dubloon killed after Charles is sealed in the basement room? Could Gabriel have had more motive than the fact that Dubloon was involved in Strack's death? Previously I've question if that was simply Gabriel's motive. But might it have been far more personal for Gabriel, like he felt Charles cared for/loved his horse more than he did his own brother? I mean, if you care for/love your brother, do you have an affair with his wife? Not likely. So maybe Gabriel's ultimate revenge against Charles simply had to include dispatching of Dubloon as well because Gabriel was just that insanely jealous. It's too bad at this point that, if Chris Pennock ever gave any analysis as to justify why Gabriel had Dubloon killed, we can no longer ask him what might have been his conclusion...
