In most cases, discussion about which individuals in the cast are gay is getting into personal and private information, and that's not the purpose of these forums.

No offense intended.  I was only commenting on a thought already out there, but certainly no harm or anything else was meant...

....or Nicholas Cage as Trask?

I like the British actor Ben Chaplin.

Yeah, I can see Cage being just quirky enough to pull it off.  And though Chaplin wouldn't be my BC, I can definitely see him in a DS movie.

I would not make the profoundly stupid error of attempting to recruit name actors. I would get entirely unknown, mid 20's actors to play the actors.

I get your point, but it's hard to play goofy casting games with unknowns.

Actually, I prefer the idea of a second generation and bringing some of the original cast back as the older generation. But it IS fun to recast the old crew.

That's all it's meant to be--fun.  It's like people who play fantasy football and pick all the different real-life players.

Kelsey Grammar.........Roger Collins
Patrick Stewart...........Jeremiah Collins
Tom Lenk*.................Harry Johnson/Noah Gifford

*played Andrew on Buffy this season

And please let Kevin Spacey play Willie Loomis.

I keep picturing him as Roger.

Going with the 1968/1795 storyline...

John Cusack as Peter Bradford

Katie Holmes as Maggie/Josette

Tim Curry as the Rev. Trask

?!?

Glenn Close would be a pretty good Grayson Hall, IMO...

Me and a friend have actually had a lengthy discussion on what WE would do with a DS movie.  I think we decided on a 1968/1795 story.  My friend had the brilliant idea of casting Rupert Everett as Barnabas.  He could best capture BC's longing and isolation, knowing that he is doomed to live out eternity pining for his one true love--whoever BC decides it might be that particular day.

(W)here is Maggie? Why would she leave her own father, who is now handicapped all alone at home?

I believe it was explained that she is in Bangor and that's why Joe was looking in on Sam.  But they never explained what she was doing there.

(taking a deep breath) Ahhh...smells like plot device.

I loved Sam's flubbing of lines during the black & white kinescope episode, telling Adam that "it's nice to be taken care of instead of being taken care of all the time..."

And after Adam leaves and Sam is talking with Prof. Stokes.

SAM: I think Adam is in trouble.

(long, awkward pause)

A VOICE OFFSTAGE: Terrible trouble.

SAM: Terrible trouble.

I doubt too much thought went into it. The script called for a tombstone with Carolyn's name on it, and the prop guys made one.

Seeing our own tombstones complete with a death dates reminds us of the one inevitable thing that most of us fear the most.

And it's certainly scarier than stock footage of bats from National Geographic.

Watching it alone makes you feel the isolation so many of the characters feel...

I like those rare times when so much is happening that they barely have time to get the Dan Curtis Productions logo up.

Vicky gets my vote, especially when she couldn't keep quiet during the 1795 episodes.

When Vicky came back, constantly talking about 1795, I just wanted one of the characters (Julia? Roger?) to turn to her and say, "God, are you still talking about that?!"
