Dearest scout75,
Where in HELL do you come up with these descriptions?

Dearest Connie:

What can I say? I calls 'em as I sees 'em...

Barnabas and Vicki were never in love during 1795. Even if Vicki was told that Barnabas was coming from the future, which she wasn't, Barnabas would already know about Jeff/Peter.

You know, it's funny...

Even though I knew it wouldn't happen, there was a moment when I was hoping that Vicki would wise up and figure out the truth--that 1795-6 Barnabas and 1967-68 Barnabas were one and the same.

After all, the one thing all three Vicki's had in common--besides chronic cluelessness and selective amnesia--was what the perpetually victimized governess referred to as a "close relationship" with Barnabas.

Don't you think she'd love to tell straight-arrow Burke "It's-Just-Your-Imagination-Vicki" Devlin about all the recent craziness in her life? That is, if the selective amnesia hasn't kicked in and she's forgotten all about the old boy...

We did see him a couple of episodes ago as Joshua when Barnabas was telling Julia how it transpired the first time - unless they inserted tapes from the original, but I assumed that they enacted it all again.
Much of that was so poorly edited together, I simply assume that they re-used the original footage.

That would also account as to why Joshua was supposedly looking for Barnabas in Bangor--and why Ben Stokes was given Joshua's lines in the den scene with Lt. Forbes.

I was a bit surprised to see Natalie's shocked reaction to Barnabas.  Didn't Joshua explain to her the nature of Barnabas's curse before they summoned Bathia Mapes?  If so, then I'm not sure why Natalie is so vengeful against Barnabas now when she was willing to help before.

I thought the same thing myself, but, of course, the continuity's not always the greatest on DS. Though it is good to see Vampy Barnabas back to his murderous self--struttin' 'round in his cool 1795 costume.

It's also nice to see Ben Stokes.

Where was Louis Edmonds during this time? On vacation? Off doing a play? ?!?

I know some people wished Barnabas and Vicki had had some physical contact when he proposed to her and she refused. Well, here you got your tender goodbye. Granted, Barn deserved more after all he did, and the danger he's in now, but at least he got a little thank you peck on the cheek.
Poor Barnabas...

He's such a fool for love.

I agree, Carolyn Groves (IMO) makes a far better Vicki then Betsy Durkin.

Still...ya gotta feel bad for poor ol' ax-faced Betsy.

Then again...no, you don't.

If you really want to play a DS drinking game, and you really want to get wasted, you take a drink every time the word "Collins" is spoken.

That's a good idea, but, seriously--Vicki and her "catchphrase" are enough to get you sh*tfaced several times over!

Did anyone else notice that when the local funeral director came to the door, he told Mrs. Johnson that he wanted to see "Mr. Jonathan"?

?!?

I always liked Joel Crothers, but felt that he was generally wasted on Dark Shadows. I think he had a better role on Somerset as Julian--the concert pianist/editor of the town newspaper.

While introducing a friend to Dark Shadows last week, I offered up some sherry, which made it all the more of a cool experience.

After awhile, as my friend was getting the hang of the show and the characters, I decided we should make things more interesting...

While we watched the show, we sipped our sherry, but every time Vicki says "I don't understand", we had to down what we had in our glass.

Needless to say, my friend got drunk pretty quick and ended up crashing on my sofa!

(Julia) looked like a demented, military schoolmarm with a Nazi fetish!

Or, at the very least, a sociopathic spinster! [vryevl]
