Current Talk '12 I / The 1991 DS Series
« on: June 10, 2012, 05:23:50 AM »
My very thoughtful fiance (who is also a DS fan) recorded the 1991 series that was shown on the Chiller channel a little while ago. This was the first time I saw the '91 series. My opinion? I liked it. It wasn't same as the original series (nor should it be,) but it stood on it's own well enough and it kept my fiance and I's attention throughout.

I have to admit, my favorite part was when they went back in time. And I loved Natalie DuPres!

That is all. lol

Love and hugs,

Heather

Calendar Events / Announcements '11 I / Hi Again Everyone
« on: May 31, 2011, 01:28:40 AM »
In honor of my 800th posting  [ghost_grin], I thought I'd add some random thoughts:

---You guys are best
---I'm looking forward to the new DS movie, presuming they do the original show justice
---I'm currently re-watching the entire series, AGAIN, and I'm loving every minute of it
---Barnabas and Julia forever!
---Still a Grayson fan and always will be, till the day I die.
---I miss posting here; I should get back to doing it more often.
---I'm still a cute insatiable wench.

Thank you very much, and have a good night.  [ghost_wink]

Many Hugs,

Heather H.

« on: January 09, 2010, 10:44:48 PM »
I would like to offer the following pieces for sale. They are illustrations of Grayson Hall in a couple of her memorable roles. These are one of a kind, original artwork (not prints - although I'm thinking of offering another piece in a limited edition, printed format.) The following pieces range from 10" x 15" to 15" x 20" mounted on foam core board.

The first is an angelic "Pepe" from "Satan in High Heels":

The second is a scene from her role in "End of the Road":

A few more pieces that are non-Grayson and non-Dark Shadows related can be found at the following links:

Chris or Tom...take your pick.

Mr. Q-man himself. Yeah, I'm not sure either...maybe Dr. Q borrowed the stethoscope from Julia?!

Peter Bradford/Jeff Clark (or as I say: PB & J for short.)

Angelique - think, Leviathan or PT era... ;)

The eternal Josette...

Mrs. J - hey, she only has 2 hands...pick up after yourself already! ;)

Carolyn in her bright green sweater (think: Adam era...)

Maggie - no, I don't think her hair is quite right either. ;)

For some reason, when I tried to convert a Professor stokes close-up,
he ended up looking like Dr. Guthrie (remember him?) Damned if I know why...lol.

Okay, so there was no way in hell I could make it to the fest this year...
So what does a wench like me do while everyone else was having a ball? Aside from RL work, I play with software, that's what!
No I didn't do these by hand....this time. A while ago I made a "Simpsonized" avatar of myself on this webpage: http://simpsonizeme.com/
So, I got to thinking and I decided to Simpsonize some of my DS Captures (not every character is represented here - apologies in advance):

The no-nonsense Mistress, Liz...

Snooty yet entertaining Roger...

Young David, the prankster (yeah, I know, not a perfect match.)

The once spunky turned naive Vicki...sleeveless, of course!

[I did a quick search and didn't see this posted on the forum, so I hope this isn't a repeat. If it is, my apologies...]

A Collinwood-inspired home built by a W. PA homebuilder was featured in the Spring 2008 Edition of a local magazine.

Check it out here: http://www.designinghomelifestyles.com/08spring_customhomebuilders.php

The print version of the magazine/article has some awesome full-page photos (I was very tempted to scan and share, but thought it best to post a link to the online version of the article instead.) If you live in the W. PA region, you can pick up a copy of the magazine, "Designing Home Lifestyles," for free at several local grocery stores and businesses. Current and past issues can also be found at their website under the "Archives" section.

Calendar Events / Announcements '07 II / OT: Site Update
« on: December 08, 2007, 09:06:43 PM »
Shameless plug I know...
To Raineypark, and those who wonder if I will ever graduate well...my new website is finally up. [santa_cheesy][santa_shocked] [that's actually how I've looked the past few days, sans santa hat...lack of sleep + web programming is a very scary thing.]

Warning: You will need a more current Adobe Flash player (version 8 or up) to view. Info and links to obtain a free web player (if one doesn't already have it) for various computer platforms can be found here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/

No templates...I built this all from ground up. Similar theme to previous site in some ways, but different...new color scheme, updated concept, and I have new logo, etc...and some new pieces no one has ever seen. And there is a smattering of Grayson-art I've posted here in the past...
My printed portfolio was judged the other day - got an A  [shocked]. But I had to tweak the website before I shared with anyone. Time for chocolate, and a nap...

Calendar Events / Announcements '07 I / Some FridArt...
« on: June 16, 2007, 06:42:29 PM »
...instead of GraysonArt, this time.  ^-^

Wanted to share a piece I just finished. The assignment was to do a very stylized portrait in Adobe Illustrator (vector art)....I've done Grayson in various incarnations and mediums for a few classes, so I thought, time to try to do Barnabas...

Just for compare/contrasting's sake, here's an example of something I did in the same program that was supposed to look more realistic, not so stylized...

I suppose I'm more of a traditional artist, but the day I finally learned how to use the pen tool (sorry, more geeky Illustrator tech talk) opened up a different world for this nut. ;)
I've got a bunch more stuff I want to share, but it's not DS-related, so I gotta get busy one day with updating/tweaking my website...

hugs,
Heather H.

Calendar Events / Announcements '07 I / OT: Artwork/New site
« on: March 22, 2007, 04:33:03 AM »
Hi all...

This is kinda OT, but it features some GraysonArt (and a B&J piece) and whatnot, so it's somewhat related...

I've been very remiss in posting...anything...lately, and this is one reason why:

http://hrh22.home.comcast.net/

I've lost months of my life creating a brand new portfolio site. ;)  ;D

Note: You MUST have the free macromedia/adobe Flash player installed on your computer in order to view the site correctly. Info and links to obtain this free web player (if one doesn't already have it) for various computer platforms can be found here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/

It was a difficult course (one where I was learning a whole new set of programs and designing everything by hand and, in my case, teaching myself everything all over again that I didn't understand. Why yes, I am as stubborn and persistent as Julia, in a way...)
Suffice to say I didn't use templates, so it was a real learning experience. I think the left and right side of my brain developed a few new wrinkles, and I think I've upped my already high geek factor a few more notches. This new format will hopefully enable me to update the site more often than before - which was never (my last portfolio site has been down since I changed ISP's.)  :-[

Thank you for your time, and now back to your regularly scheduled and fascinating DS themed dicussions...  :-*
