Hi Everyone,
I'm Marie Wallace, and as many of you know, I played "Eve", the most evil woman who ever lived, "Crazy Jenny Collins", and" Megan Todd" of the Leviathan period in the original Dark Shadows. Hence, I I've picked the user name of Eve-Jenny-Megan. My friend Nancy Kersey told me about this chat board idea, and I thought it would be interesting to be in touch with DS fans.
I see many of you at the DS Festivals that we hold every year (I wonder how many of you have come to the Festivals one or more times?) They're always great fun, so I hope you've gotten to at least one of them. If you'd like to read about past Festivals, go to my Web site, www.mariewallace.com and you'll find lots of photos and stories about them.
I'm not exactly sure how a chat board runs so I'll just send this off, and go from there. Happy to be here.
With Best Wishes,
Marie Wallace

And we're thrilled to have you here. Welcome! You did fantastic with your first post. :D
-
Welcome, Ms. Wallace! Now, I'm afraid I'm going to have to go away and collect myself. This may take some time.
-
How wonderful to have you here Ms. Wallace! I was a volunteer at the 2004 Tarrytown festival and attended the gathering for volunteers that Saturday evening. I really enjoyed listening to your stories about the theatre and your days on Dark Shadows. I hope you enjoy the board as much as I have over the years.

Hey there! So glad you dropped by! This is very exciting for us!
I've often wondered if any of the DS alums have browsed through the board, perhaps under a "Guest" profile or something, just to see what we fans are talking about.
I remember when I first joined here, I was quite intimidated by the number of posts some people had--2500? 3500? Wow! But you'd be surprised just how quickly time passes when your reading messages in this forum, and how quickly the posts pile up.
We here at DSF like to discuss the finer points of the show we love: bloopers, plotlines, plot inconsistances, wardrobe. And we tend to speculate with leaps and bounds about things sometimes. But it's all in good fun.
I'd suggest heading over to the Caption This board and reading some of the material. Some of the quotes and/or captions that are made up for screen captures are quite funny.
Hope to see more of you soon!

I just wanted to say welcome. I have read your book and enjoyed it. I hope that you have lots of fun here. Never been to a fest. I would be nice to have one come to the Pacific Northwest, how about Portland. We got our name from Portland Mass, that then became Portland Maine. The people that name Portland actually flipped a coin.
Your work is great, always enjoyed what you did. [crowdhappy]
Again I hope that you have lots of Fun.

A very warm welcome, Ms. Wallace!! It's so wonderful to have you stop by. I hope you will continue to post whenever you have time! :) 8) :) 8)

Welcome Marie! How exciting to have one of the DS stars on the board! I haven't read your book yet but hope to someday soon. I haven't been to a fest and also hope to do that, and meet you and the other stars especially John Karlen, David Selby and Lara Parker. It would be great if you told us some of the behind the scenes stuff that occurred during the airing of the show, what you can remember of those days.
Again, welcome and I'm glad you're here.

Warmest welcome to our beloved Marie! That's so nice of you to stop by.
We wish you all very best with your current projects. You know you are a fan favorite!
cheers, Steve
who will never quite forget the day Professor Stokes announced that Eve was the reincarnation of "the most eee-vil woman who ever lived"!

What an unexpected pleasure! I very much enjoyed your performances in the show. Welcome to the Forums!

I'm so glad that you have joined us, Ms Wallace. I have been to every Fest since Los Angeles in 2000, and have read and enjoyed your autobiography. I've never introduced myself to you, but admired you from afar. Welcome.

Hello Miss Wallace and welcome aboard. There's a lot of die hard fans on this board of which I'm one. I've been at two fests and you were nice enough to pose for a picture with my son and I both times. I can't tell you what a thrill it is to see you here. I know my day just got a little bit brighter. I hope to hear more from you soon, Elmont... Now I'm gonna find Magnus and collect myself

Hello, Ms. Wallace! I've read your autobiography. I could not act if my life depended on it, so I enjoyed reading about how you do things. And the next time I saw Jenny, I looked for her pin-curls.
I've never been to a Fest. Maybe this year, maybe not.

Hi Marie, and welcome. I've read your autobiography, and loved your "backstage" look at the business. I doubt if you'll remember this, but I am the Actors' Equity rep who had the pleasure of seeing you in ARSENIC AND OLD LACE some years back (1996, I think) at Blowing Rock Stage Company in -- well -- Blowing Rock, NC. After the show, you and I had a very nice talk about "the biz" --and Dan Curtis, among others -- in the kitchen, and later on the terrace, of the actors' housing, while enjoying Domino's Pizza and wine, and enjoying the company of the others in the cast. (For the record to others on the board: yes, our DS actors are human and sometimes actually enjoy the same food and drink as the rest of us!) I once wrote about that wonderful experience, which I had planned to send to Kathy Resch for her publication TWODS, by my computer crashed shortly after and, well, I never did get around to writing it again. So, I guess this is it--the short version: Marie Wallace is a wonderful and talented lady, who is very down-to-earth and accessible, and if you have the chance to see her in performance or talk with her...please do so. She's a great lady. (And if you haven't read her book, please order it and read it!! Lots of fun stuff about her life in show business in it.)

Hey Marie, welcome to the DS BOARDS. So glad to have you here. I have just started watching the Leviathan peroid for the second time in my life, and I want you to know how much I enjoy you on my screen. All of your characters had the same face, but you did a wonderful job of making them so different from one another! :) Thanks for dropping by. I haven't gotten to a fest, but I hope in the next two years I am able to attend one!
Again Welcome! Thanks for stopping by!

It was great to see all of the DS actors who were there, but was very impressed with you when I saw you onstage! You are sooo the movitational speaker!!!!!

I'll second that. I met her in 1989 I think. She has never been anything but wonderful, sweet, and gracious to my dad and I. She was the first DS actor my husband met. She even gave us the first autograph signed to both of us. And she taught us a fun trick on how to introduce two people to eachother when you can't remember their names. ;)

Welcome to the DS Forums, Marie! It's an honor to have you here. [92c5]

Welcome Marie Wallace!! How wonderful to have you with us! I hope you won't be too overwhelmed by the size of this place, and will bring your behind-the-scenes knowledge and insights to us!

-
Hi Marie -- Nice to see you around these parts. Don't be a stranger. :)
-
I'm sure you're not phased by a deluge of fan attention at this point, Ms. W, but I still hope all this won't stop you from being able to relax and post whatever occurs to you. It doesn't need to be the Gettysburg Address or anything.
-
Hi, Marie- It's me, Charles! It's been a long, strange journey since we first met at the Manhattan Shadows convention over 20 years ago, and so much has been accomplished in the world of "Dark Shadows"! Now that you have met such success with your memoir, is a book of photography next on your list? (Hint, hint!)

:)
This is so cool!
Welcome, Marie!
What a great talent you are!
I hope you act again~~I always thought you'd make a great Mrs. Venable in Tennesee Williams' Suddenly Last Summer!

Welcome Marie,
I was just looking at the cards of Ney York snow scenes I purchased at a fest awhile back. Just lovely.
Hope you enjoy yourself here .

Welcome Marie!! [wave] [wavey]
It's wonderful that you decided to check out this board and became a member. I've been to one festival, 2006 Hollywood CA. I met you at your table for a few minutes and it was such a pleasure. I also enjoyed your talk on stage. I hope to see more of your posts.
-
Welcome to the forum, Marie! I've had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with you during the past three festivals. You are truly so warm and gracious, and I believe I probably told you a few dozen times how much I enjoyed reading your book. In fact, I devoured it in one sitting, and felt as though I were right there with you, going on auditions and doing shows. You drew me right in.
That said, I'm looking forward to seeing you again this year at the next festival. We are all eagerly awaiting word on that.
Again, welcome!
-
Wow! It's GREAT to see you here, Marie! [wave] I have been to the last 4 DS Fests, and enjoyed meeting and talking with you. I'm the one who was bragging last year about losing almost 100 lbs. with "The Three W's" - Weight Watchers and walking. [cheer]
My favorite encounter with you was at the Hollywood Fest in 2005 when we chatted for a few minutes while you were waiting for your ride. It was neat to talk to you, and you were really down-to-earth and just like anyone else. [flower] All the pictures of us that you graciously posed for turned out great! [bigok]
Welcome! [92c5] I hope you will post here as often as you can. [cheesyg]

Well hello, Marie and welcome to the forum! It's great to have a DS star visit and register in the forums. You were great in all your roles, but I especially loved you as Jenny. [hello]
Sad to say I was never able to attend a festival [sadg], but I do love watching DS on the DVD's....it's like the show never died.
So glad you decided to come and chat with us! Hope you'll do some more! [knockwood]

Dear Marie,
I had the pleasure of meeting you at the DS Convention in Anaheim, California a few years ago. You were friendly, warm, vibrant, and it made sense to me why I loved you in all your DS roles. Also enjoyed your witchy India Delaney on "Somerset." But my favorite is a tie: between Jenny and Eve - two such polar opposites, but you played them both perfectly and memorably.
Welcome to the forum, and thank you for all the enjoyment you've given your fans by your verve and nerve as a first-rate actress on Dark Shadows.
