One of my greatest joys was that I was able to catch and tape Nero Wolfe back in the '80s. One doesn't even see it on TV nowadays, which is very sad because Thayer is phenomenal in it. If only he had lived, who knows what renown the show might have brought him...

I absolutely agree, MB!  Thayer is the best Nero Wolfe ever.

My heartbreak whenever I watch the film is how healthy and vigorous he seems to be in it. Who knew he would be dead before another year had passed?
