Title: Idea for New DS Willie Loomis
Post by: Joeytrom on February 02, 2004, 11:36:42 PM
Tom Lenk (Andrew on "Buffy" and "Angel") would make the perfect Willie Loomis in the WB DS.

Here is info on him:

Wouldn't that make this excerpt from an article about him all the more interesting?--

"Return of the Living Dead", from Buffy the Vampire Slayer magazine, June, 2002:

"And though Buffy may have endeared Tom to Boba Fett and Liza Minelli, don't expect him to get drawn easily into any other vampire shows.  'I do sit through Dark Shadows every morning,' he says.  'Is it a soap opera?  Or is it just really bad acting?  Sometimes they look over, and they're reading their dialogue off a poster.  It is so frightening!  My roommate has it on every morning, and I wake up to it.  Are they British, or are they not?  I can't tell because sometimes the accents are really bad!'"

I still like the idea of casting TRADING SPACES handyhunk Ty Pennington.  At the very least, he'd be believable in any scene depicting the restoration of the Old House...

Unfortunately (or fortunately for its fans) Carnivale has been renewed for a second season, so Nick Stahl probably isn't free to take another series role.  :(

I can picture Tom Lenk as Willie. Wonder how they plan to update Willie- will he be a drummer for the house band at the Blue Whale or a goth-rock loner?

I can also envision Shiri Appleby (formerly of "Roswell") as Victoria Winters. Not sure what projects she's working on now, I've always enjoyed her work. Just a personal choice.

I'm not sure if he'd do TV, but I would pick Crispin Glover, as he reminds me of Dwight Frye, the Renfield of Bela Lugosi's "Dracula" in 1931. Renfield is the direct inspiration for the Willie character.  [blackbat] [blackwidow] [vampy]

I thought Lenk was going to be involved in another Whedon project???

I like the idea of Glover, but isn't he a bit old for the part? He has to be in his 40s, right?

Of course, that would make an interesting interpretation on the part though . . .

God, I feel so old  :P

Thats a good choice for the part of  Victoria winters,  Shiri Appleby is a good actress, liked her in "swinfan". i can see  Chrispin Glover as willie too,  he is very talented in playing different roles. from willard to george mcfly. willie is alot like those two characters put together!

Willie Loomis. And who will play him on the new show? The possibilities are endless and mindboggling. My vote is the guy who plays Harrison Davies on Tru Calling, which is a new show on Thursday nights. The actors name is Shawn Reaves. I'm going to try to attach some pics to this reply so you guys can see what he looks like. Sorta sweet, and dangerous at the same time, with big eyes, and lush lips.

God. How do you put pics or links in these durn things?
I got the perfect picture here....

You use the YaBBC img tags. Check out the link below for the latest explanation:

As for Shawn Reaves, I agree that he could be a very interesting Willie. But part of me hopes that Tru Calling gets a chance at a second season - and if it does, he wouldn't be free to play Willie...

The "new" Willie Loomis, in my mind has to be Gary Oldman.  I know he's in movies, but gosh darn it, he would make a great Willie.  [nerv]

And speaking of Johnny Depp [luv] [luv], he would be a great Nicholas Blair.

Don't laugh! My daughter wants to cast Tom Hanks as Willie and I want Dwight Yokum.  ;D

Yeah, I am with you on that one. But you know, actors can play more than one role at a time, and I'm sure Shawn will be flattered as heckfire to be wanted for two very interesting roles.

Thanks for your tip on how to use the tags. Alas, I have no web space, but I'm sure the IMDB website has pics of the lad.

Maine Girl  :)
