Does this mean that Prof.Stokes knows Chris' werewolf secret then?  I don't ever remember seeing or hearing about it before. Did I miss something?

Nah, you didn't miss anything.  We never saw anybody tell Stokes, unless you figure that enough time has passed since Barnabas went time tripping for Julia to tell him.

The problem I have with the business of Petofi's mark is that Edward wouldn't know about it.  He saw Barnabas disappear in front of him in the police station, and Trask has told him he saw Barnabas vanish in front of his eyes, so Edward should be thinking that the jail cell wouldn't be sufficient to keep him there til the sunrise.

I can now access the board with my Mac again.

Yay, BWB!!!

(My 1st "under 120 sec. error".  I'm so proud. :))

(Oops, got another one so I'm killing time.  I just hope this post won't also remind Ringo of his honeymoon. ;))

If you're curious about it then it can't be a silly question

... though of course there can be silly people.

Thanks Midnite.  I really wasn't overly concerned about the older post and I didn't want to add any more work for you to do (fixing it up) but I just wanted to use that particular post as an example so you would know what I was talking about because the whole thing was becoming so confusing to me that I didn't know how to explain it.

It's okay, and you're welcome.  I couldn't explain why it was happening til I made sure I could get it to work, hee hee.  Anyway, I learned from the experience too. :)

This is one of the most interesting threads I've read in a long time.  If you read it carefully, you'll find it a fascinating study in contradiction, the frailty of the human ego and a rich example of hypocrisy on many different levels.  (And all packed into one little thread!)

Gosh

-CLC  (not afraid to voice an opinion because....and I quote from a previous post:)

-------------------------
"Well, all I can say to that is that if someone has a strong opinion about something, please don't be afraid to state it. This forum was specifically created so that any DS fan could feel comfortable knowing that they wouldn't be chewed up and spit out simply for saying something that might be a bit controversial (which most definitely isn't the case on some other DS venues )."
--------------------------

No one said that an opinion can't be stated.  No one is trying to make anybody afraid to state an opinion.  There's a vast difference between listening to feedback and dropping everything to do what we're not even capable of doing simply because one person repeatedly tells us we should be doing it.  And that doesn't make us hypocrites.   Connie, all that we asked of Bob, and everyone else, is that we be allowed to run the forum just as we've been running it since it was created over 4 years ago.

It's no secret that you have a problem with my decision-making because you've been quite verbal about it, and I've listened to every single argument you've offered concerning why you feel I didn't handle a situation to your liking.  Just because I didn't change my mind based on your arguments doesn't mean I didn't hear you, or that your voice doesn't count, cuz it does-- your opinion matters to me, period.

Yet after you objected to the most recent discussion between us you offered to take it to private correspondence, which I thought was an excellent idea.  Obviously you still have issues with how the forum is being run but instead of ever contacting me, or MB, you continue to bring it here so now I'm asking you to take it off the forum.

MB added tons of upgrades to the last version of the forums.  These included additional smilies and colors, backcolor, overcolor, polls, buttons, IM preferences, invisibility, viewing new posts... I could go on and on, and we miss them too.  We ask for the patience of all cousins while MB becomes more proficient at PHP before he starts adding or subtracting features to the forum.  I wish I could help him, but I'm still at the most basic level of tutorial for PHP forums-- sort of a "PHP for Dummies". ;)

Speaking from the heart, I became uncomfortable over certain comments made in this topic and I must say I feel the same about the idea of using a poll to determine how this situation will be handled.  This is most definitely a cohesive and supportive group, and we recognize that input is invaluable, but MB, Dom and I are the only persons that are privy to all developments regarding the forums, most of which occur behind the scenes, and we hope to continue to enjoy your trust that we'll go on administering the forum to the best of our judgment and also be allowed to set our own priorities.  Thanks.

Well, I got it to work now. Hopefully my fingers will share with my brain what it was they must have done differently. But my fingers won't talk to a stranger! ;)  Thanks for your help.

LOL, you're welcome.

Yeah, I saw that Midnite but still no go.  I typed in the password - which is the same that I use to get into the forum, so I thought.  But I still could not get in. I accept quite willingly I am the one who is probably not doing something right. I just don't know what. :-[

I'm sorry, Nancy, but I think I'm not understanding cuz I don't know what you mean by not getting in.  You opened your profile using the link on the horizontal menu, entered your password near the top, changed what you wanted to change and then clicked "Change profile", right?  If so, since I'm not seeing any error are you sure you weren't successful?

I've just noticed that on certain older posts of mine that the "size" "color" and "shadow" are all messed up and was wondering if this was because of the new Forum board?  For example on the thread with Annie's birthday wishes, "Look who's celebrating a birthday"  I had added a "size 6"  "Happy birthday Annie"  yet when I looked at it now, it definetely doesn't look like a size 6.

Glow, shadow, and size are showing up in that topic again.  I broke up the tags (grouped them onto more lines than they were originally).  The first line was heavily coded for glow, shadow, font, center, color and size but now the text is more isolated and all codes are working in both IE and Netscape.  When we used SP the codes did stop showing up if they were crowded onto too few lines, and apparently SE is even more sensitive.

Also, some of the coloring is gone too. I had added "hot pink" along with "shadow=turquoise,2,3000" and only the turquoise shows up now.

All the colors that MB added to the standard colors aren't available right now.  I noticed that turquoise and a few others sometimes show up as a default color, but I don't know why. :-

None of the "move stuff" came out either.

Move still works in other posts in that thread.  The 2nd line in that post also was heavily surrounded by tags, with codes for move, glow, color, size, font, bold, and 3 emoticons, so grouping them onto separate lines and isolating the text (even from the emoticons) got them all to work in Netscape, but move still didn't work in IE so I had to get rid of the glow-- plus its end tag-- to make it work there, sorry.

I've been noticing lately that if I try to hit on "size" along with a certain "color" and "shadow",  the lettering comes out super small.  So I'm just wondering if there's a certain new code now that we all have to use for these type of things?  I know some of the emoticons have changed but I didn't realize that the other things have changed also.

The standard YaBB codes that display above your posts and in Help haven't changed; only the additional codes added after the forum was launched have changed (i.e. the 2nd and 3rd pages of smilies, and the updated codes for ??? and 8)).

Try putting the color and shadow tags onto separate lines from size and text, particuarly when using with the larger sizes and longer lines of text.  It should do the trick. :)

If you're curious about it then it can't be a silly question. :)

The green light means they're logged on and present on the forums.

Have some of the old posters been locked out because of closed registration?

It's possible.  If they remember their registration name and kept a valid email address in their profile they can request a forgotten password.  Or they can write the webmaster via the domain name.  One member asked for help on another message board, but beyond coming up with the above minimum of information there's nothing we can do for them unless they contact one of us directly.

Whatever became of Jase?  His posts were absolutely hysterical.

He wrote last month that he's busy with a script/film workshop at college.  He sounded great!  I'll let him know you're thinking about him.

I typed in my password, and nothing happened. I get a "clink" sound after I type it in my profile (so I can change the profile).  I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Hi.  You should have received this error when you tried to save the change(s):  You haven't entered your current Password. You have to enter your current Password to make any changes to your Profile.

It may not have been typed correctly, or if you used the back button or refreshed the page it would've had to be reentered.  Also, make sure you're entering it near the top in the Required Information section.  The area in which you're asked to type it twice is only for changing your pw and the original still has to be entered at the top in order to do that

Hope that helped.
