Afan,
First, let me say that the "shadow", "glow" and "move" effects don't show up in any version of Netscape that I've tried, but anyone viewing the board using Internet Explorer will see them. Secondly, as with all YaBB tags, they have to be typed correctly; just click on the beige box with the shadowed D to get the complete code you'll need to use to get that effect, or check the Help section under Posting/YaBBC.
As for your name in the top left, those are already shadowed according to membership status but, again, the effect can only be seen using IE. The shadow color will be the same as the color of your star(s); in your case, Afan is shadowed in black to indicate your status as a DS Forums Newbie.

[hello]Thank you so much. I have learned a lot from the help section about adding the cute little symbols to my posts. I understand now about the name in the left hand corner. I can see the shadows and colors in the other poster's names. Now, the only thing that I would like to add is an advar(sp) from DS when one of Quentin or one of his loves becomes available!Afan

[jawdrp][shadow=red,left300]Is all the stuff supposed to show at the top of my post? What did I do wrong?[/shadow][size-5A]fan[/size]

[jawdrp][shadow=red,left,300]Sorry, I thought I was previewing, hit post instead.[/shadow] I wondered why the instructions appeared at the top of my next to last post. Am I being a pain? Afan

Sorry, I thought I was previewing, hit post instead.
It's OK - I just fixed that subject for you.
Whenever you copy/paste be sure that the cursor is blinking in the area you want to paste to. Depending on how you move your mouse cursur, sometimes the blinking cursor will jump up into the Subject box (which is most probably how the code was pasted into the subject of that post). The easiest way to avoid that happening is to scroll down far enough on the posting page so that the Subject box can no longer be seen. That way the blinking cursor won't accidentally jump up on you. :)

[shckd][sleep][silly][jester][wavey][read]I think I have it!AfanI'm so proud, I must post this!

I've forgotten how I got the large letters in color.
AfanOk, size has to be on both ends, color, just before signature then color after signature.
so Size = number in brackets, then color=yellow, then bracket, then signature, then /color in bracket, then /size in bracket! Afan, Yeah! No spaces, no commas.
-
Need to test this size color thing again. I think I have it, it works, and then the next tiime I'm off.

Okay. Got my smilies going. One of the most fun things about the Board is playing with these emotions!
I want to make my name roll as some of the other posters do.[bnghd]

I thought I knew shadow, but I just tried it on a post and had a time. I put [shadow=red,left,300] Me Too, Me Too[/shadow] and it didn't work. Then I put Afan and it shadowed Afan! Where is my text? "Me Too!" "Me Too!" Love this kind of stuff, and have had success most of the time, but now I am stumped as to what happened with [shadow=red,left,300]Me Too! Me Too![/shadow]

First off, if you want to demonstrate the tags in a post, you need to surround them with code tags. The 1st code tag is simply the[code]
and the second tag has an added /. Without them, all other YaBBC will disappear from your submitted post. In other words, you typed thisbut now I am stumped as to what happened with [shadow=red,left,300]Me Too! Me Too![/shadow]
but because you didn't add the code tags, it came out like this:
but now I am stumped as to what happened with [shadow=red,left,300]Me Too! Me Too![/shadow]
Regarding your post on the Current Talk board, you typed this[hello][hello] [shadow=red,left,300] Yes, Yes, Yes, Me Too![/shadow] Me Too!. Me Too!, Me Too! Afan
but I just separated the YaBBC and the text by putting them on separate lines, like this[hello][hello][shadow=red,left,300]
Yes, Yes, Yes, Me Too!
[/shadow]
Me Too!. Me Too!, Me Too! Afan
to make it come out as you intended it--
[hello][hello] [shadow=red,left,300]
Yes, Yes, Yes, Me Too!
[/shadow]
Me Too!. Me Too!, Me Too! Afan
Hope that helped!
